Aerotek Reviews

new office in Davenport, IA - same unprofessionalism
Aerotek opened a new office in Davenport, IA recently around July 2011. Many online job postings are now handled by them. After applying online for a supposed warehouse position through them, I was offered an assembly line position working in poor conditions with an unfavorable work schedule. I reluctantly accepted. After a few weeks of unsuccessful follow-up attempts, an Aerotek hiring manager contacted me and told me they would find me something better - even though I didn't turn down their offer. After applying for some other Aerotek jobs, a recruiter called me and offered the same assembly line job - but he didn't know that I had already applied for it. Again, I accepted, and made a trip to their office to have an interview and fill out paperwork. I cringed at the level of unprofessional behavior I witnessed as the recruiter and others joked about job applicants and acted like a bunch of children. Later in the week, they congratulated me and told me that I had the job, contingent upon a drug screen and background check (requiring yet another few trips). The next week, they offered a completely unrelated position in which they lost an employee due to failing a drug test. I was promised a 4 month temp-to-perm contract position, but the recruiter insisted that I start the very next day without signing any contract. He also showed no regard for my prior arrangements (car repair, etc.). Again, I reluctantly accepted. I had just read countless negative reviews of Aerotek online, while searching for information about the company. So I wasn't feeling too good about them. After taking precautions and asking the recruiter for a copy of the job details in writing (job description, pay, scheduled, etc), he became wary and told me that he probably wasn't authorized to do so. Taking a leap of faith, I arrived at the job site a few minutes early as instructed by my recruiter. My supervisor never showed up. I called him and he said he would be there soon. After 45 minutes of waiting, I left and went home. I'm disgusted with all the run-around from Aerotek and now I see why so many others are, too. It's amazing how nasty the recruiter and hiring manager became when I made the decision to finally ignore them. They called about 20 times throughout the morning and left numerous voicemails. Sorry Aerotek, you had your chance - I'm moving onward.

worst staffing company, idiots for recruiters horrible company
aerotek has to be one of the WORST companies ever for staffing etc. I went to a so-called 'job fair' for a company. I was treated like dirt since I was the last person being interviewed. The females all gave me derogatory attitude and looks...I already knew I wasnt going to get the job before the stupid female retard even interviewed me. She hadnt even seen my resume yet but I knew i wasn't going to get hired. I was spoken down to during the really bad interview--these are recruiting professionals?? Shawna the moron who interviewed me was horrible...rude, weird...asked strange questions very rudely...overall I was overqualified as a candidate for the position. I had many years of that particular position, and most people who are hiring for that who see my resume hire me immediately. Yet, the aerotek idiots then threw in the phrase of "we're looking for people who have done this the past 3 years." How ironic--I had been doing a different job the past three years on my resume...(really three years??) How convenient...yet I also mentioned I was doing something related to that and had a ton of experience in it...but that didn't matter. In fact, I was selling products from that very company they were hiring for itself...that I guess just wasn't qualification enough. I was asked--well if you have two jobs already, (unstable ones on the side) why are you applying for this one??? Hey, (idiot) because its a stable permanent position you moron...the way it was asked was really rude too as if---why on earth are u looking for a job if you already are working in a job??? Shawna the interviewer was VERY rude unprofessional...weird...so it didnt matter that I was selling products as an independent contractor for the very company I was applying a position for, had years of experience for the specific job, and was very qualified. They seemed to find tons of excuses to not hire me. I had a mediocre 5 minute fake interview and was let go after I had to wait there 45 minutes...I left a message for another recruiter when I left complaining of my treatment and how I didnt feel I got a fair interview and was more than qualified for the position...again I was told by the idiot recruiter---(im not sure who hires these idiots or if aerotek is even legitimate at all)...that theyre looking for sales people who have been doing that for the past three years. Again how weird that prior to 3 years, I had been doing call center work, but 3 years ago started something else...but was also doing sales as well...ironic that 3 years seemed to be the cut off date...so the company was looking for someone who had been in a call center in the past 3 years...that seems to be the most pathetic excuse ive ever heard of or bizarre requirement...I bet had my resume stated two years, they would have been throwing the two years in the picture...even being an independent rep for the products didnt qualify me as a candidate---aerotek has the most unprofessional idiotic staff of fake recruiters ive ever heard of for a company like that...they are stupid weird...rude...pitiful and im not sure what they hire people based on but its surely isnt qualifications. They are unprofessional morons during their ridiculous interviews and have no clue how to interview or hire people. It seems like a bunch of stuck up recent college grads doing it and they are stupid very stupid people...unethical unprofessional and pitiful. They even said "we may have more positions that are suited for your qualifications"...wtf? honestly...there arent more positions suited for my qualifications...THAT is the one position that is completely suited for my qualifications...in fact im sure if an engineer walked in there those incompetent losers and morons would be telling him hes not qualified for an engineering job but they can find something better suited for him...you will not find a group of more incompetent retards for recruiters---beware of this horrible company and its lack of everything...

discrimination, not fair chances to employees, not fair interviews, reject candidates before even interviewing them
I went to a job interview and was discriminated I feel by the HR person there by the name of Shawna. Ive been to many job interviews in my life and its easy to assess who or what is discriminating against someone. For me I recall this happening to me many years ago at a staples where the female HR people were being blatantly rude lying to me and nto giving me a fair chance at a job there. It was a very bad experience. Needless to say the experience at aerotek wasn't horrible but it was stil what I feel was discrimination. I went a 'job fair' they were having for a company. I was the last person to get interviewed. I waited 30 minutes, while witnessing everyone else sit in the rooms for at least 15 minutes or more with the recruiters. The females were all giving me strange looks and I had a feeling i was not going to get a chance if I interviewed with any of them. After 30 minutes or more it was my turn adn instead of treating me like a real candidate, the female who approached me was not friendly, and acted as if she was going to sit there and "give me a few minutes" to chat as she said. She basically already wasn't going to hire me before even interviewing me. I knew before my 'semi interview' i was not going to get hired--which is very rare. Generally you go into an interview, get a fair shot and then find otu the results. In this case based on the negative treatment by some fo the women there and the comment made by the female, I already knew I wasn't hired and she acted as if she was just taking me in b/c I was sitting out there. She literally said "Ok well I can sit with you for a few minutes" (then get u out of here which was how she was acting) which si absurd since I went in there for a real interview with my resume, hoping to get a fair chance at a job fair. During the interview--she was brash and rude and asked me 10 questions about my previous employment with a bad attitude..."why did u leave this job" "why did u do this"..."why did u do that"...nothing I said was right-she was also being rude and drilling me in a rude way so that no matter what I said it was wrong and it was obvious she had no interest or desire to even treat me as a potential candidate--she also kept asking me what other companies I had interviewed with--many times which was unnecessary...almost as if I wasn't good enough to even think about getting a position with the company...also the manner in which she asked questions was just very rude and abrasive...it was obvious not only did she have no initial desire to hire me or give me a fair chance, she wanted to make my experience was negative as possible before she finally just rejected me...also it was a sales/call center position...my specialty is sales/call center experience...Ive done it for many years..I'm an expert at the position...Ive also done a lot of sales...she then claimed I hadn't done any 'recent sales' which I had to correct her as I did...either way it didn't matter--she wanted to sit there with me literally for a few minutes and reject me which I already knew...that is not an interview or even close to a fair interview...so even though I had recent experience, and all the qualifications, she really just wanted to not give me any chacne with the position whatsoever from the beginning. This is odd as this is a job fair--and the recruiting they aer doing is very shoddy and not right. There are many bad recruiters out there who use their personal bias towards someone as grounds for hiring or not hiring---the female who did the interviewing was very rude and weird...her name was 'shawna' and i already knew she wasn't going to hire me the moment she opened her mouth and took me in the room...sorry but a professional staffing company has no right treating potential candidates in this way and it is ridiculous...maybe it is females who are jealous of other females in some way and decide to treat them this way...but I know I was not given a fair interview and the female basically just wanted to go through the motions so she could reject me without even looking at my resume...great job fair this company holds... very rude women who reject people before even meeting them or even looking at their resume... just beware before even attempting to go through this so-called 'staffing company' for any job position at all-- they dont hire based on experience or qualifications-- they seem to discriminate for no reason and treat people not so well...

Totally unethical
Brware of this agency.

Hired by Aerotek for a temp-to-perm job at a large financial institution as an administrative assistant. Was on the job for 22 months and there was no permanent job to be had - the position I was in had only been staffed by temps for years prior to my being placed in the position and I was replaced by another temp.

I've worked for a lot of temp agencies over time and this company is totally unethical. Not only do you not get paid holidays or any accrued vacation time based on number of hours worked (read your contract carefully because they will “mislead” you during your interview), but sometimes they neglect to pay you. When they do neglect to pay you, it can take days of phone work trying to reach a person (in my experience, they don’t respond to voice mail messages) and sometimes it takes over a week to get your missing pay, but only if you manage to reach a human so keep trying. Even calling their corporate headquarters in MD will only get you voice mail and your calls aren’t returned.

Aerotek exploits the unemployed in these hard times by paying slave wages and dodging any contact with you, their employee, once they place you at a job. Most “quality” agencies offer paid holidays and accrued vacation time after you work a certain number of hours. Aerotek will tell you that they do, but if you carefully read the contract, there is no mention of it.

If you decide that a low paying job with no benefits or perks is better than no job (that’s the position I was in when hired by Aerotek), be aware up front that you will never receive holiday pay, accrue vacation time or get a raise.

Find another agency, one that respects their employees and treats you with dignity.

fraud and scam artists
This year Toyota gave their employees A christmas bonus, But instead of the aerotek employees getting their bonuses that Toyota dished out Aerotek used them for their own personal gain to cover pto hours of aerotek employees. most of the employees have to be there 6 months before they even get pto days and the turn over rate is quick. So it makes me wonder where did our money go if you never got the PTO days and why am I paying for someone else pto when I earned the
christmas bonus. Working 52 to 68 hours a week

wrogful termination
Aerotek is discriminative in nature and fired me by using a medical excuse as what they call an occurance to justify their worng doing. The amount of harrasment aerotek allows in their company by other employees is rediculous. The first 8 weeks i worked for them they shorted my check and i had to get them to fix it, one week i was shorted 8 overtime hours. They allowed me to be physically mentally and sexually harrassed and in The end i was the one punished for it.Dont work for Aerotek

Full of cr%p
I registered with Aerotek, two hours later had an interview, thirty minutes later had an offer. I was so stoked! Worked my butt off at a job I loved for four months, my manager advised me they were going to hire me in, the next day my Aerotek rep called me to advise that my position was terminated because the host company was terminating their contract with Aerotek. Two days later I talked to a friend who worked at the same place through Aerotek, and was still working. I called Aerotek and they said the reason I was terminated was because of attendance issues. I never missed a day and was never late. When I told them this they said it was disciplinary issues. When I responded that I never once had any problems, they just responded that the host company was unhappy with my performance or conduct. I called the manager who responded that it was an outright lie. Aerotek advised the host company that they had found I had lied on my application and that is why they had terminated me. It was complete BS!

I applied for unemployment and found that I am one day short of eligible, and was told by the agent at the unemployment office that Aerotek has a reputation for this because they get a percentage of their placed employees wages from the host company, higher waged employees are terminated without cause before they are eligible for unemployment so Aerotek can bring in another employee and keep getting paid, and it is all legal.

Thanks Aerotek, hope that little bit of money you're getting is worth taking the food off my kids' plates!

Totally unprofessional
Was brushed off and insulted by recruiter/ unprofessional ryan horton whom rarely returned my calls, told me inaccurate information pertaining to job start dates, and Mr. Horton also seems to get offended with contacting other recruiters relative towards other positions. If Ryan does return a call it's 2 weeks later and at the end of business day on Friday. His responses are "What's going on now, what's the problem now, you've talked to every other associate in my office." In a inclined tone with sighs. I am only trying to pursue occupation/employment, I am directed to his associate/ aka partner in crime- Trevor and he has me on speaker phone while ryan is immaturely yelling in background like an adolescent child. I asked for the contact to corporate and Trevor refused to assist. Good luck working with such professionally inclined people.

The Company Is Not Paying Their Employees On Time
I have had multiple problems with this employment agency. When I first started my employment (Oct. 11th) everything was fine, ...UNTIL- It was time for me to be paid! My recruiter (Derrick Higgins) told me I should receive my check the following Friday (Oct. 22). Well it never came, so I called him the next day (Sat), because it didn't come that day either. So Derrick said "It should definatley be there on Monday". Well guess what?...IT NEVER CAME. So I spoke with Megan Morgan and I enformed her that my car payment was due, and I have a "passtime register" in my car. (The loan company will idle your car until you make your payment) She assured me my "training check" would be on my second check (Nov. 29th) & offered to take me back and forth to work. (Which I declined, because I should not have to do that) So both of my checks were on there. The following pay period, Megan Morgan called me & stated that the company I am employed through (Garden City Group) did not approve my hours. So I went to the lady who handles payroll approval (Amanda)...& she showed me in the database where she had approved all of my hours. So I called Megan back & she said they werent, so I had Amanda call her. Everything panned out, and AeroTek had everyone come to the office and pick our checks up on Nov. 4th. I did not recieve my 4th check on Friday Nov. 12th. I called AeroTek & they stated they sent them out that day, so we should recieve them either saturday or monday. Well today is THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18TH, 2010. AeroTek told me there is nothing they can do until 10 days after it has been sent out. Then I would have to come up there, sign a form, & they will have another one mailed to their office. (which will take a total of 12days I had to wait for my check) Today another check was issued out, and I still havent recieved payment for the check for last week. Now I am not a person to complain, but I am struggling to pay my bills at the moment. My uncle was murdered in July and my parents left it up to me to pay for the funeral (due to their lack of funds & location). This has now caused me to face hardship! I had the place I reside at now checked for a broken pipe, and they confirmed a gas leak is there. I would have stayed in a hotel for the next few days but...I DID NOT GET MY CHECK SO I HAVE NO WHERE TO STAY!!! I have a daughter named Mikaia, who's 1st birthday is this weekend & I cant even buy her a cake, let alone go buy her atleast 1 present BECAUSE I DID NOT GET MY CHECK!!! I dont have gas to get back & forth to work, ( I live in the Short North in columbus, Ohio & my job is in Dublin, Ohio) SOOO...I might get fired for not being able to make it back and forth to work-WHY???...BECAUSE I DID NOT GET MY CHECK!!!
I took every precaution to make sure my time sheet was in on time, and that I filled it out precisely. I have done everything on my end. They expect me to be at work, on time, everyday...well I expect to get paid for it on time! The sad part about this is...IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THEY ARE DOING THIS TO! There are several employees who are not recieving the funds they are entitled to. Please look into this! If you need the names & numbers for the other people I know AeroTek is doing this to, I will be more than happy to provide them! Thank you Gratefully, Michel'Le Miller

Calling/Employment
What I want to know is why do they call you, leave a message for you to call, then they dont return your call? You called me, if you changed your mind about my resume or the position has been filled, say so. Dont make me return YOUR call 3 times and no response. Joanne Alamguer and Justin ? Have done this 2 times to me already. That is not what a professional recruiter should do .
