Wanted to charge twice as much as others for the same service
My husband and I decided to replace old windows in our house and signed a contract with Dream House Windows for $9378. We thought it was a good deal because the salesman knocked off $2000 for us from the price they gave us at first.
The same day we spoke to our friends and neighbors and learned that the deal is not good at all. We found out that we will be paying almost twice as much the market price of the service.
The next day early in the morning my husband faxed them our cancellation request (we had 3 days to change our mind according to the contract). He then called and spoke to our salesman.
The sales person was furious that we are canceling our contract. He was rude, called us different names and refused to give us a confirmation that the contract has been canceled. My husband just hung up.
We never heard from them again, and I hope the contract was indeed canceled, and we will not be chased by some collection agency. My advice - shop around and never sign contract with a company before researching it.

Scam
Dream House Windows pricing is a scam. The price they gave me was outrageous, the salesman called his manager to try and get me involved in some target program offering me some money they had left over from advertising in the company and after 5 phone calls later the price was dropped 25% AND WAS STILL OUTRAGEOUS. They should be giving that extra money to their salesman for being such great liars. The man on the phone was so rude to the salesman I almost felt sorry for him, people shouldn't treated that way especially considering what they have to do, his manager offered to lower the price if I put a job sign on my lawn or wrote a letter of recommendation. I wanted to laugh in the guys face, but I felt bad, poor guy is just trying to make a living. He was worse than a used car salesman. I did some research and they do not manufacture their window. Soflite does and they pay to have their name listed on some bull crap website along with other companies who claim to be a manufacturer. Whatever you do DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT DO BUSINESS with them...that company is nothing but a scam. They over charge by an outrageous amount. I got an estimate of $37, 000 for siding and windows. I had 2 other companies come out and BOTH companies were over $17, 000 less the Dream House. IT BETTER BE THE HOUSE OF MY DREAMS FOR THAT PRICE! If I did business with them and found out later how much they were going to rob me for I would have been livid! DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE! AND SHOP AROUND, IF IT SOUNDS LIKE A PIG AND LOOKS LIKE A PIG...ITS A PIG!! FOLLOW YOUR GUT INSTINCT!!
