I went into this restaurant as a trainee for a bartending/barbacking position. The managers initially told me that I would observe, as well as assist the current employees. It had been over three years since I had worked at a related position and the employers were aware of my lack of recent experience. As soon as patrons started arriving, I was left without any assistance or guidance to serve drinks. Due to the large volume of patrons, I was overwhelmed and unprepared, as well as humilated and embarrassed by my clear inability to serve competently. About three hours later, I was told to leave, as well as informed that I would not work out for the position. I never received an apology or any trainee pay as compensation for this unprofessional and inhumane behavior.
