Won't repair bad installation
We paid over $3000 for a new floor in our kitchen and dining room. the salesman ensured us that the floors could be installed directly over the existing floor. From the first week there were problems. The installers had to come back multiple times because they didn't have the correct parts. Within a month the floor started to flake. Then the treadles started to pop up at teh steps area and it was apparent that they were not installed properly. They sent out representatives twice to look at the floors. The last 'supervisor' said that he agreed with us but that he doubted that they would do anything. Now the flooring has swollen bubbles in it. After multiple letters and calls we eventually gave up.

Fraud and No Show
I had a salesman come to my house for a free in-home estimate. He wouldn't give me a straight answer about the products or how much exactly the carpet, the padding and the work each would cost. He quoted me an astronomical figure for the job, which he brought down by a few hundred dollars when he saw my stunned face. I decided to go ahead with the job because I really needed the carpet installed right away. The installer never showed up!!! I got an apology and a further discount if I still want them to do the job. I don't think so!

Seams not matching
Do not walk away but run...I had carpet installed in a larger than 12' room. Not once did anyone from Empire tell me that the seams would not match...the day of the installtion the installer advised us that the seams would not match...then told us to live with it a few weeks...after 2 weeks of missed or late installers...a new person from Empire came back and advised us that we would need a different type of carpet...other rooms have the same with exception of the bedroom..Now we get a bill and Empire can not do anything about it...they haven't finished the installation...and we now have to start paying on the carpet because their computer is tied into Wells Fargo and they can't redo it...Now if that isn't a bunch of hog wash...DO NOT WASTE TIME ON EMPIRE...go anywhere..I wich I had done my homework before getting intto this mess...

Bad service
We had a sales representative come to our house he was very nice my first negative was when he started to bad mouth Home Depot and lows. I can't stand when a salesman bad mouths another company. Well anyway I let it slide thinking he was proud of empire. He measured and we looked at samples. I was not going to make a decision that day anyway - I just don't make decision that quick.

Well when we got our quote it was over $8000 for about 2200 sq feet that was with the buy 1room get the rest free. When I told him my quote from Home Depot was approx. $6000 he immediately dropped his price to $6500 I said I wanted to find my Home Depot quote to be sure he started pressuring me to buy - that he could have it installed on Monday today way Saturday. I told him I still needed to pack up my house - we had 2 floods in our house and it was basically a mess I wanted to go through everything myself to discard what I didn't want anymore. He became upset at that point but was still pleasant. But I was assured when I made my appointment that I would not have to make a decision on the spot. We decided we would call empire back if we wanted to use them. Still have not decided, but I figured the price would be a whole lot better than what they quoted. I don't think they actually give you the deal they advertise on TV. I expected the quote to be at least half of the Home Depot price.

Seemed like a good idea, but not
I'll start by saying that even though I read all the reviews, I just had a morbid sense of humor and wanted to see first hand just how sketchy Empire was.

I filled out the online in-home estimate request and then noticed somewhere that it stated if you weren't spending at least $750.00 that they would not come out so I emailed a cancellation request (only needed 20 sq.

yards of carpet). Not only did they send me the cancellation confirmation, but right behind it, they rescheduled my appointment again. When I called, I had to jump through hoops to actually speak to a human being, explained my situation, and the woman stated that no job was too small and that they would be here today, Monday, January 31.

My sales guy called and was super nice, he was close to my home so he was coming an hour early if that was ok. Sure, no problem. Now I have already spoken with Lowes, Home Depot and Molyneaux over the weekend and each provided a rough quote of around $540.00 - $560.00. So I figured hey, Empire says they save you money, why not let them come in for an estimate.

Well, my salesman arrived happy as a child on Christmas morning. I quickly escorted him to the small bedroom and hallway that I wanted to have carpeted and explained what I have explained above. Suddenly, this kind old man became so enraged that he literally turned 4 shades of red and began shaking. He told me that unlike these stores, he only installs quality product. I told him that I was looking at Stainmaster carpet with upgraded pad and I thought that was quality. He then threw his metal briefcase on the floor and fumbled his phone out of his pocket to call "his boss" and told me that I had to tell them I canceled my appointment. When he put me on the phone, I told them that no, I didn't cancel, I was told that 20 sq yards of carpet would be no less than $900.00 and that I was going with another quote, he ripped the phone away from me, hung it up, called me an a$$hole and dropped his phone.

Empire Carpet Sucks
We purchased carpet for our family room from Empire. Within 3 months, the carpet started to wear under the moving part of the sofa. Their product is a rip off as it's low grade crap. They're overpriced and wouldn't do anything to repair the carpet. We will never buy Empire carpet again.

Nasty Carpet
I hate my Empire Carpet. It was installed 2 years ago and looks horrible today. It has not worn well at all and was never a quality carpet to begin with. I cannot wait to get new carpet installed when I can afford it. For now I am stuck with this disgusting carpet. I called Empire and of course they blew me off. Horrible after-sale customer service. It gives me great pleasure when someone new comes to my home to point out my carpet and let them know it was purchased from Empire. They cannot believe it is only 2 years old, I actually had a friend who was considering Empire, she changed her mind quickly in calling them. The carpet was never a good looking, comfortable carpet, it looked cheap they day it was installed. How foolish of me not to have done my home work. Now I am stuck with horrible, disgusting carpet. Thanks Empire!! No wonder you have commericals on TV all day long, you need to reel in all the NEW customers you can get... because I would be shocked if you had repeat customers.

Horrible Sales
I called Empire for a quote in late mid 2006. A sales rep came and knocked over my plant and was not very pleasant. I made no commitment and that was the end of that. At the end of 2006 my carpet was really coming apart so I called again. They sent another rep. He seemed very nice - measured told me I had too much stuff to do in one day - I already knew that. I asked the installation be in the morning - he said he would note that. I called him 2 days prior and he told me not to get my panties in a ruffle. Day 1 of installation - it is almost noon and no sight of anyone. Finally the installer calls and said he would be here in 45 minutes. 3 young guys come and I told them of my request and they said they have no note of that. The 3 installers worked hard and they were fine. Nervously, one of them informs me they don't have enough to finish my hall that day. In other words, Mr. Sales Rep measured incorrectly. The installer said to call customer service and see if they could give me some compensation for the inconvenience. I did. The answer was I needed to speak to the Project Manager and they would pass on the message. I called back 3 days later and got the run around. I got the run around so badly, after calling everyday for over a week, I asked for the phone number of the president of the company. The customer service rep put me on hold and returned to ask if I wanted to speak to her supervisor. My reply was only if she was going to give the phone number. I found out Project Manager was the Sales Rep who screwed up. He never called. I finally did get $200 compensation. The installers was fine for the most part. The lead one left the other two one day which is fine but the other two did not speak English very well which made communication a bit difficut.

Bad Workman ship
They installed hardwood flooring and did not put any waterproofing down as requested now my floor ruined. When I call them to complain they were very quick to say they will fix it but it will cost me an additional $1200 after I paid over $4000 to install the hardwood in my lounge. I will never use them again to do any work for me I am also telling everyone how bad they are and not to use then no matter how cheap they quote as their workman ship and service is bad. Look at photos to see how bad this look.
