Cashed Pmt/Nvr Applied to Acct
My auto loan was originally financed through Drive Financial. Out of the blue 1 day I started receiving statements from Santander indicating they are my new loan provider. Long story short, I ALWAYS mail in my payments since its FREE this way and have NEVER had a problem. This one particular time I sent in a money order for $440 directly from the post office and according to Santander they didnt receive the payment. However, the money order was cashed 7 days after it was mailed out. Once I got in touch with Western Union(the money order co.) they told me to pay $15 (non-refundable) so they can send me a COPY of the CASHED money order, which i did.The copy of the cashed money order shows it was cashed at Chase Bank and also had an account number written on it. I went to Chase Bank and explained the situation and had them plug in the account number written on the money order and they told me this is FRAUD and its impossible for the money order to be cashed at Chase.I then proceeded to send copies of the cashed money order to Santander as proof, in hopes of jump starting applying "missing/cashed" payment, I attempted several times by mail and fax, yet each time Santander says " Im sorry but we didn't receive that documentation, please send it AGAIN". This is so ridiculous!!! Everytime I call nothing EVER gets resolved, in the mean time my account is accruing late fees. On top of that, Western Union can ONLY refund my money if Santander sends ME an affidavit stating that there is a payment missing on my account and Santander REFUSES to do so, stating its against company policy!!! So at this point I am at a stand still, its going on 3 months and this issue is still not resolved. I did everything I was supposed to do, yet Im being penalized. There is NO local office and the only department I can get to is customer service... I didnt see this coming, but I am not giving up. At this point I dont know WHO cashed my money order. Since it was mailed directly from the post office I have to assume it was a Santander employee since the money order was never altered, it still said payable to Santander when it was cashed. Sign me up for the class action lawsuit please.

Idiots
A lifelong friend of mine in the DFW area of Texas owns a car lot and had purchased a vehicle from an individual who was 6 months behind on their payments. This vehicle will bring approximately 3 thousand more than the payoff at the local major auction house. Certified funds were sent to Santander in Dallas for the exact amount of which Santander quoted which was 500 dollars more than the seller stated they owed. These funds were sent certified return reciept requested. The card was returned to the car dealer by the post office and had been signed for by an agent of Santander. It has been 3 weeks since this check has been recieved by Santander and no one will acknowledge reciept of funds while repo operations are still in effect. It appears as though Santander does not want anything but the vehicle which would be more beneficial to them. When Santander was asked for their fax number so they could have a copy of the certified check and a copy of the mail reciept card signed by their employee, they said this was not necessary. Each time you call, you are transferred to many different people none of which could find their own Butt if it were hanging on their nose. What does a guy do? One word can describe Santander.

auto
Well where do I begin, my car was finance with city-financal auto. About April or May i called them to find out the pay-off on my car they told me and we was working out the plans on my car. I went to call them again to find out for sure how much and how i go about to pay it off and i was redirected to SANTANDER CONSUMER, that is were it all began. They cold not get there facts, paper work, nor any conversation we had together. I would talk to three different people everytime I called. they would call me all hours of the day and night. Well I made all my payments as I told them I would. They tried to say
I was 95 days past due and I wasn't. yes my car was to be paid off in september and i could not pay it in full so I was to be getting a mature ammendment loan, everytime i called they had is sent i would wait 3-5 days and nothing call them back and get told the same thing. It comes down to when they came and got my car, they had all the payments, and they came and got my car. when my husband talk to them the day they was here to get it they said they did not have my payment. After they left come to find out by my bank they had it. I went ahead to pay my car completly off and get it back and they said i could not have it back, I had to pay an additional $400.00 to get it WRONG I just paid every penny i owed on that car. needless to say i did get it back and did not have to pay the additional money. But just to say I WILL NEVER USE THEM IN MY LIFETIME. they can not get any of there stuff together, and they are some rude people to talk to and work with.

Extremely poor and rude customer service
This company does not care at all about their customers; they are very rude unprofessional and not helpful at all.

I recently paid off my car loan, when I called the company to get my payoff amount I explained to the customer service representative, who was not very nice, that it was very important, as soon as the loan was paid, for me to get a letter stating that car loan was paid in full, she responded in a very non caring attitude, that they will fax it to me right away.

The next day, I send my payment via Money Gram because I needed to pay this payment immediately. I called the next day, and again I talked to another rude person, he told me that they had receive the payment, I explained my situation to him, not that he cared anyway, and asked him to please fax me the letter showing that the car was fully paid as soon as possible, he said “we will fax to you in a few minutes” well, minutes turn into hours, I called back and I got the same answer from another person, with no results.

After several days of me calling and pleading for them to send me the receipt, I have not yet to this day received the fax, I even e-mailed them three times, and I never received a response back from them. Customer services my foot!!! I don’t recommend for anyone to get a loan with this company.

will not send my overpayment back
I purchase a 2005 Ford 150 and it was financial with Drive which after 2 years sold my contract to Santander. I had automatic payment every month. I was never late on a payment. September of 2010 I purchase a new SUV and the company paid off the Ford truck. Mind you they still recieved a payment the next month by mistake. They told me to send proof of the withdraw, which I did . I was then told that i have to wait for 30-45 days before I recieve it back. I was told 2 time that the money would be put back in my account like it came out. Now 30-45 days have come and gone and no money. I call back I was then told that it will be mailed out. I am sill looking for it. Call again for the 4 times this time she can not see where the money is and do not know if it went out and for me to call back in 2 days and then she hung up on me.I need my money $543.00

Negative business practices
This company purchased the car loans owned by Citifinancial. They treat consumers as if they are bad debts by making harrassing T/C's and bullying consumers. Despite being almost 12 months ahead of the payment schedule, they are setting me up for late fees with weird bills. I received a bill for $47.92 following my payment of $800.

THeir staff is rude and argumentative. THey are not honest and certainly not on the level of Citifinancial. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. READ THE COMPLAINTS THROUGH GOOGLE.

Took my money and car
My HSBC contract was sold to Santander without my knowledge. Then they notified me that I was a month behind and they would offer me a refinanced loan at a lower interest rate. They told me to fax the signed contract and send $800.00. I did what they asked 6/29/2010 and they didn't apply my money to the old contract or the refinanced contract. I called them in July and they claimed that I hadn't given them any money at all. They said I owed them $1470 now. They also said they were going to repo the car and weren't going to deal with me at all. In July they repoed the car and added a repo fee of 500 and a storage fee of 400. They wanted to charge me $50 to get my handicapped placard out of the car-which I couldn't afford too.

Scam
I found out that Santander bought out Citifinancial auto loans and at that point I phoned in to request a buy out offer from them, submitted the amount over night, they released the title within approx. 10 business days. A couple of weeks afterwards I get a phone call stating that I have an additional balance on the account. WHAT???? $162.70 good thru 11/4/10.It wasn't enough that I sent them several thousand dollars. Are they insane or what??? The buy out total meant just that! Why are they trying to squeeze more monies out of me. I owe NOTHING and I'm so happy that I DO NOT have to do business with them. This nickle and dimming people to death has to STOP! They are not organized at all. A company who practices business the way that they do should not EXIST!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SANDTANDER... You'll be SORRY! This should be their slogan.

Sold my loan
I can't believe that good customers of yours are being treated so badly. Santander is nothing but a rip off. In the 21st century to be charged $10.95 a payment for each payment made on line is a rip off. I will do what I can to find some other lending agency with a little bit of class to work with. You people are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to customer relations. You should nevber have sold my account to theswe sharks. I made my payment every month for forty-four months only to be greeted with this injustice to a moral code of lending that should consider a good consumer and treat them properly.

Dissatisfied customer
Like all of you, I am also a part of the "sell out ~ CitiFinancial". I think that CitiFinancial should have told us long ago what was going on to give us an opportunity to stay or leave. I guess that's the freedom we have in America, huh?

I wasn't even going to call or contact this company after doing research on them, reading all the complaints ~ how they are so rude, how they have extra fees, etc, I said why even deal with them, but I guess my curiosity got the better of me, so I decide to call them to let them know that my September payment was on the way. WHY DID I DO THAT?

The conversation started out ok, but when I told the csr that I wouldn't give her my bank account info and I will send a money order, it was like she started having a bipolar moment. She started yelling and telling me that this company will not wait like Citi did and she's trying to explain to me the situation. While she was ranting all I could do was laugh and say out loud "Lord I DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY". She then told me that she was going to get a supervisor on the phone, so hold on, but the next thing I heard was a dial tone, Really? Are you serious? Who in their right mind wants deal with a company or customer service like this? NOT ME.
