I am a Canadian artist who had been asked to participate in my first group exhibit in NYC. I had packaged 3 paintings and put them in mirror boxes labelled fragile, and sent them off with excitement. I was not able to insure them because I had packaged them myself, and they have a limit of $500 for insurance, and will only cover this if it is lost. So off my future went, and they arrived in shambles. They had been dropped so hard the wood frames had splintered.
