Lies, falsehoods, and credit dings
After my car loan was purchased in a bundle from CitiFinancial (whom I would do business with anytime) it was nothing but lies, and misleading statements, one after another. I totaled my car shortly after they took my loan, and though my contract clearly stated I had Gap Coverage, several employees told me I didn't have it, and then another told me they didn't even have a copy of my contract! After MONTHS of the run-around, we finally spoke with a rep. who seemed to have her head on straight. We explained to her that we could not purchase another vehicle until we had finished with the loan with them. She offered us a payoff amount, and said that within 24 hours of payment we would receive an email stating the account was complete. We waited 48 hours to be safe, and were then told by another rep it would be there within the hour. The next day another rep said at least another 48 hours, followed by another rep contradicting the others and saying it would be two weeks at least, followed by another who said it would take another fourteen to thirty business days to process the letter! At which time we informed them we would be contacting an attorney and the state Attorney General. We were promptly hung up on. A few days later we were informed by our insurance company that they in fact had a copy of the finalized contract, because it must be given to them upon final payoff as per law. We have yet to receive a copy, and I have recently found that this group of liars has also dinged my credit by over 100 points in supposed "late payments" and "failure to pay". As I said at the start we were not with the company long enough to have had the number of problems they are assessing. We have all our records of the date and times they cashed our checks (days before they were due) and yet our payments never seemed to hit the account until twenty four hours after they were late. Between the lies and deceitful business practices, I cannot believe this company still exists!

wrong information
This company has been calling and sending letters and a repo man for a car we have never owned. We contacted their customer service to try and get it straightened out and got the name of the car dealership where the car supposedly came from and the car dealership is out of business. We now have no idea where to go from here to get this straightened out.

Rude and Illegal Business Practices
My car was totaled and the GAP insurance did not cover the whole amount of the loan. Santander lowered my monthly payments to "help me out". The new amount due was $193.01 a month. I received a letter from them stating if I made the payment beginning in September 2010 and each month thereafter I would be current on my account and my loan would be paid off in 2013. Since I am making payments on a car I don't own, I was paying more than what was required of me. My husband and I began receiving calls that our account was late. I called them twice to explain that their records were wrong and there was no way we were behind since I had been paying more per month than what I was required to pay. They put the note in my account but still kept calling. I continued to make my payments. I tried to log in to my online account with them a week ago and found it disabled. I called them and they told me my account was more than 100 days delinquent and was "charged off". I could not believe this since I have made a total of $2500 of payments since September 2010 and only obligated to pay $1158. I was frustrated since their representative told me there was nothing he could do and could not explain why we were behind when I had obviously overpaid. My husband has called every day this last week to try to get to talk to a person that can explain why we are behind when we have overpaid. No managers are around, they are always in meetings, and the representative tells him that they can't look back into our records to tell us why. They are very rude to him when he calls. What recourse do we have as consumers? It seems that they are the ones stealing my money and saying we are behind...now my account is in collection. Please HELP!

Rude, No one can give correct answer or help
Married, faxed 7 copies of documentation for name change on loan and title. Santander lost paperork several times, took over 3 months to have name change on loan and "REFUSE" to change name on title or send me copy of title so that I can register my truck in the correct last name. They state that the "Texas Department of Public Transportation" have to call Santander and request a name change to title. RIGHT! DPS office laughed then I told them that, now I have a truck that I can't register in my married last name! Santander was blaming every one of their departments for this and refuse to help me get the correct name on my title. BUT hey they still take my money every month!!!

rude customer service and unprofessional agents!!
When my account was transfer and was taken over by SANTANDER CONSUMER USA, from the beginning until this day is been nothing but harassment with the so called customer service representative, they are EXTREMELY RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL and care less on what you have to say. Their main goal is to screw you over with the fees. They don't give you accurate information and everybody makes their own policy. I been giving the run-around for weeks now.
I was told that I couldn't do a partial payment because of my maturity date, so because it was over $1, 500 I was not able to come up with that high amount. I paid them $780.00 but they still wouldn't take the rest of the amount unless it was in full. Now my account was reported to the credit bureau and when I talk to somebody today they said " if I would've paid at least $500.00 that my account would've been current" but because of their LACK OF COMMUNICATION it was never informed to me until today.
THANK GOD THAT I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH RUDE PEOPLE AFTER THIS PAYMENT! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! IF THIS IS THE LAST COMPANY STANDING I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A CAR!

Good Luck to everyone that has to deal with them. :(

Never posting my payments
Have been forced to pay my monthly payment for month of February 3 times now because no one listens or cares about my auto loan payments. I am growing increasingly weary of giving my money to this company because I know somehow the money for my payment is being stolen by their "employees".

Paid for Vehicle & they keep calling
I finanaced a 2009 Mustang with Santander Consumer USA in January 2010; circumstances arose which allowed me to pay the remaining balance in November of the same year. I received the signed title and the completed contract in the mail a few weeks later. However, the PAYMENT CENTER for Santander Consumer USA does not show that I paid for my car but the PAYOFF CENTER does. They call me daily and have sent me a notice that they intend to repossess my car. I have sent them copies of the check, the title, etc but they still call. I decided that I didn't want to take the chance of having that vehicle repo'd so I traded that car in on another one. This is the best part. The amount Santander shows I would owe (if I actually did) four months later is LESS than what my payoff amount was in November. They are really screwed up!

car loans
We had a car loan from this agency. Right from the start, I received phone calls stating that my payments were behind, but I had made them on time from a credit union account. Santander said they never received them, even when I provided proof from my credit union that they had sent the payments. They repeatedly called my cell phone, references, and my employment even after telling them that I could not receive these kind of calls at work. I emailed them and sent a certified written letter. Please do not take out a loan with this agency- it is BAD NEWS!

CAR PAYMENT BANK FEE
ON THE MONTH OF DECEMBER I SEND MY CAR PAYMENT TIMELY BEFORE THE DUE DATE 12/27/10. ON 1/8/11 I REC'D A TEL. CALL FROM SANTANDER REQUESTING MY PAYMENT FOR 12/10, THAT ACCORDING TO THEM IT WAS NEVER REC'D. I CONTACT MY PERSONAL BANK TO VERIFY THE STATUS OF MY CAR PAYMENT CHECK THEY INDICATED THAT CHECK WAS NOT CLEARED. I CONTACT SANTANDER ON THE SAME DAY 1/8/11 AND WAS INFORMED THAT NO PAYMENT WAS REC'D FOR 12/10. SANTANDER BANK CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPLAINS TO ME THAT PAYMENT WAS DUE AND MUST BE PAID OR ELSE MY ACCOUNT WILL GO INTO COLLECTION. I EXPLAIN TO THE CSR THAT I HAVE SENT MY PAYMENT BY MAIL TIMELY. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY LATE PAYMENT PROBLEM. IF YOU LOOK AT MY PAYMENT HISTORY WITH CITIFINANCIAL I HAVE NEVER BEEN LATE. SANTANDER CSR ADVISE ME TO MAKE A TEL PAYMENT TO COVER 12/10 AND THAT HE WILL ANNOTATE MY RECORD FILE THAT 12/10 PAYMENT WAS MADE BY PHONE ON 1/8/11. HE STATED CLEARLY THAT HIS NOTE WILL STOP ANY OTHER PAYMENT AND AVOID A 2ND PAYMENT FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER.I MADE A TEL PAYMENT ON 1/8 TO COVER 12/10 PAYMENT. lATER I REVIEW MY BANK STATEMENT IT REVEAL THAT SANTANDER DID REC'D THE PAYMENT FOR 12/10 CHECK WAS REC’D ON 1/21/11 AND CLEAR ON 1/24/11. THIS UNEXPECTED TRANSACTION CAUSE ME AN OVERDRAFT FEE OF $37.00. I CONTACT SANTANDER CUSTOMER SERVICE TWICE BY TEL. AND ONLINE AND REQUESTED A REFUND OF MY $37.00 OVERDRAFT FEE. THEY STATED THAT I MUST SEND A COPY OF MY BANK STATEMNT AND RECORD OF MY OVERDRAFT FEE FOR THE TRANSACTION MADE ON 1/24/11. I FAX THESE DOCUMENTS PER THEIR REQUEST ON 1/28/11 AND NEVER REC’D ANY RESPOND. I DECIDED TO CALL BACK AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THAT I WAS NOT ENTITLE TO ANY REFUND. I REQUEST TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR OR A MANAGER AND WAS DENIED TO SPEAK TO BOTH. I ALSO REQUESTED AN ADDRESS TO SUBMIT A COMPLAINT AND WAS ALSO DENIED. THIS IS UNBELIEVEABLE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE, UNRESPECFUL AND UNHUMAN NO COMPASSION AT ALL. THE ONLY THING I’M REQUESTING IS A BETTER SERVICE AND A REFUND OF MY OVERDRAFT FEE AS I TRUST THE CSR ACTION BY ANNOTATING ON MY ACCOUNT RECORD THAT I HAVE ALREADY PAID 12/10 PAYMENT A 2ND PAYMENT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CHARGE TO MY ACCOUNT. UNFORTUNATELY I WAS NOT SERVED APPROPIATELY i WILL CONTINUE WITH MY COMPLAINT LEGALLY. SANTANDER BANK HAS A VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
