My experience with the Baton Rouge Campus was horrendous. I was in the Medical Billing and Coding program and I hate to say it but my Program Advisor Ms. Williams was just "ghetto". I had a hair cut today at the Aveda Institue with an advanced student and also bought a blusher. My bill came up to $67.83. I presented the cashier with a $25 gift card which was part of a Xmas package I bought at the same Aveda Institute in Dec 2009. In the fall of 2008 my daughter rec'd a letter from this co. stating that she is eligible to have her name registered and the Who's Who Registry of Academic Excellence. To the students considering attending Ogle School in Arlington, I warn you not to waiste your time or money. For the money you will be charged, you do not receive a comparable education. All you are paying for are the hours. I continue to regret trusting Ogle with my education and had to work twice as hard to get the education from another source. Ogle has a good reputation throughout our metroplex because it was once a great school and has within the last couple of years been sold and is under new management. This organization deliberately fails test takers on the essay portion of the tests so you have to pay to take the test multiple times. It's a way to generate revenue. I wrote a memo that was concise, clear and organized. They failed me because the memo wasn't written in five paragraphs and didn't have an introduction, body and conclusion. I was ripped off by CompuCampus College as well. They used obsolete outdated software and books for my program. Because they took the misleading statements about the Computer Graphic Design Program off their website they are still allowed to use the same software. Caveat Emptor... Remember that Beckfield College is a for PROFIT college. The admissions people tell you what you want to hear. Borders on deceptive practices. They quote placement rates for 2007-2008 but are reluctant to tell you of 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 placement rates.Beckfield is not ABA accredited as of March 2010.The paralegal program is good for the most part.To succeed prepare for class don't expect to be spoon fed. Union Institute and University had a valid PhD program, but it was put on probation back in 2004. Sadly, students were not given an option to withdraw and be given refunds for big student loans. I hung in there as long as I could, and kept borrowing, but because the US Department of Education had disqualified them for Federal Student Loans, I had to use Sallie Mae's Opportunity Loans. They continue to lie to us on the phone about the real status of our consolidation loans. First they tried to double our daughter's loan due amount..then they finally fixed that. Then they continue to come up with no real excuse why they are not released and finished in consolidating after 4 phone calls from both my husband and myself each about our plus loan consolidation.
