My son was a student at this school for 5+ years. The school was initially named UMAC-United Martial Arts Centers. At first the school was run in an excellent manner. When the owner Joseph Preira married his now wife Stephanie it all went down hill from there. Sanford Brown will say whatever they have to, in order to get you to register as a student. Their programs tend to be slightly outdated, specifiaclly their dental assisting program. Their focus is more on technicalities of the state so they can stay open tho they really dont comply as a teaching device. Today I took the test they offered where they claim is all I need to pass the DMV test in Minnesota. Turns out only a couple of these questions were in the test so as you would have guessed, I FAILED. This shcool has a good reputation until you have a child go there. Their very difficult and uncaring. I am a mother with an ex who was ordered to pay 90% of my daughters school costs. I have had to take him back to court 6 times in 3 years to get this done. Each year I had to take loans to cover the cost until I could get the judge to force money from my ex. This school is run by a husband and wife team. The wife also teaches the elementary class and her daughter and daughter in law teach the toddler and primary classes respectively. There are tremendous conflicts of interests in the way this school is run. It is run like a dictatorship and parents opinions/viewpoints are usually not welcome especially if they are contrary to what the head of the school (the elementary directress) thinks. I ordered the infamerical disks. Shortly after the disks arrived I received phone call stating I could sign up for coaching sessions instructing me step by step in how to do the real estate system. These people are a joke and I am now stuck paying a debt to them every month on top of loans that were taken out when I was going there. I attended the brandon-online college from March 2006 till they dropped me out of the school in January 2008. Little did I know that I was put on student probation and was dropped out for not appealing my probation. I was a patient at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn, NY on 10-30-06. I was in the coronary care unit. I received practically no care, coronary or otherwise. My roomate was deranged, and yelled continuously. I was across from the nurses lounge, more properly the bar and lounge. The noise, laughter, and chatter was unbelievable. I pushed the call button, and pulled out all my monitor leads, without any response.Some nurses supervisor came by the next day and took notes, but never furnished me a promised copy. I was told (in person) that every single Unit aquired at Westwood College of Technology was transferable to the UC:CSU college system in California. That was my selling point so I enrolled. I was told my recruiter that I needed schooling to take the PTCB and that is a lie #1 that Remington told me. I could have went and signed up for the certification exam without having any schooling. Lie #2 is that the administration and faculty cares. Once you sign on that line and are commited to that $13, 000 tuition they don't care what complaint or problem you have. I enrolled at National American University in a 4 year Bachelor Degree program as a Paralegal. My first semester I had no problems at all and enjoyed the classes and teachers.
