I purchased a membership to the GoodLife gym in July 2010. It was for a 1 year contract. As time went on, I never got into exercising and I forgot about my membership. I have paid approximately $550 dollars in fees, and I have never used their product. Today I called them to cancel my membership. They want to charge me 99$ + HST as a cancellation fee. How can they justify this? I basically gave them $550. For free! I never used their resources. How can a big company do this to the little guy?
