Our original home loan was through another company, but, as you know, often the loans are sold to other companies, and it is beyond the home owner's control. Currently, we are charged montly for and additional $290 for an 'assessment' fee. No person from that mortgage company ever came to this property. They were never acknowledged by either my husband nor myself for an assessment, nor were we notified of any such event. I could have had this house appraised for that kind of money.
