We recently took a trip to Santa Clara Cuba and flew with Sunwing. We adhered to the weight allowance and had no problem leaving Toronto headed for Cuba. On our return two weeks later, we unloaded all our toiletries making our luggage weight significantly less. We purchased NOTHING in Cuba because there is nothing to buy there. At the Santa Clara airport, we were told our luggage was 15kg over the allowance (that's almost 40lbs!). They charged us over $300 and threatened if we didn't pay up, we would not be going home.
