I applied for the HSBC credit card after I purchased my first brand new Chevrolet HHR. I had a beacon score of 812 at the time I applied for the card which had a promotional period with 0% on balance transfers and purchases and was told my interest rate I was approved for would be 8.99% after the promotional period was over. I thought that sounded great. My other two credit cards had a interest rates of 8.99% and 9.99%. I never paid my HSBC statements late or any other bill late for that matter in at least 9 years.
