I ordered a bed in September 2008, was also told 6-8 weeks, my first partial delivery was February 2009, 6 months later!!! They charged me the full amount, even though they said they wouldn't until I had the full order, and I only have half a bed/wall unit. Now without any possibility of ever completing the set. In the mean time I was initially told the same stories you all were, a backlog in orders due to strikes in Greece.
