Tiles have long been seen as not only practical and functional, but also as a status symbol. Imported tiles adorned the houses of the wealthy throughout Asia, as Eastern architecture began assimilating European tiles into their overall design. Our journey first began with H&R Johnson Tiles, which was founded in Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent, by the Johnson family in 1901 in England.
