My new e-machines came with a 60 day trial of the Norton 360. It expired, I got popup after popup "renew now", so I finally paid the $59.99 for ONE YEAR (my old Dell came with McAfee, no updating or renewing needed). Immediately, my internet connection was "not responding", my photoshop programs (I have two) and Word were not responding. I couldn't even access shutdown/restart because the Norton 360 completely froze up the computer. I had to SHUT OFF THE ELECTRICITY TO MY COMPUTER!! to be able to reboot!!
