I had taken an Education loan of Rs.2 laks from SBI in 2002 to pursue my engineering. The SBI manager told us that time as the policy is you have to pay the interest for 4 years during your study and then you have to pay the principal amount with in 5 years without interest as this was a shared loan of my father and myself. My father paid the interest for the first 4 years i.e. 2002 to 2005 till course complete. Then we thought that we have to pay the principal of 2 Laks in next 5 years till 2010.
