I made several overpayments of small amounts ranging from $20 to $100 for a few months. My statements never showed a reduction of principal. When I called they said it was because the interest is accumulated daily and from the date I received the notice to the date they received the payment interest had accrued and the overpayment went to that. It didn't make sense the my payments for the month were always the same with ot without an overpayment.
