Having attempted to persevere with this machine for a few months, I have finally come to the conclusion it is unusable. It has a design fault at the point where the hose enters the dirt collection box: that is, it gets clogged up because there is insufficient clearance allowed at the entry point. This means that one gets about 2 uses of the machine before it will not pick up at all.
