I used Priceline to book a three-star hotel for a one night stay in Appleton, WI, for 12/24/09. You must enter your credit card information before seeing the specific hotel Priceline booked for you, and the cost is non-refundable. I have no issue with this premise, since it is understood that one is sacrificing the certainty of a specific hotel in exchange for a reduced price.
