A five-year-old leopard was attacked and severely beaten early on Friday morning by the villagers of Ahman Bans near Firozpur Jhirka in Mewat district.

As per Law of Land - West Bengal Animal Slaughter Control Act 1950, Sacrifice of Cows on Bakrid – is illegal because it is not an essential religious requirement. High Court decided this after 12 Years that it is not essential religious requirement. West Bengal Government appealed against order of HC in Supreme Court. Langur is in captivity and deputed around ITC Mauriya Hotel by the concerned officials, which violated the laws, hence OIPA in India demands that immediate rescue, rehabilitation of Langur along with criminal proceedings against concerned tainted officials and so called owner of the scheduled wild animal - Naresh Kadyan, Rep. of OIPA in India.

There are many more Elephants like this in illegal captivity here in Delhi around but concerned Wildlife officials are silent and sleeping on this issue, when Elephant became a National assets and heritage animal. Now OIPA in India demands the immediate rescue of a female Elephant from Yakub in Delhi, where as Special Court at Kurukshetra issued warrant of a accused Radheshyam.The Chief Wildlife Warden, Haryana also not taking legal action against offenders nor tainted subordinate officials.
