In 2008 I bought a 2007 Chevy Aveo with 1700 miles on it. At 62000 miles, the timing belt broke. The dealer told me that the belt is a maintenance item that should have been replaced at 60000 miles, so I would have to pay it myself. I spoke to GM, who told me the same thing.
