I have had both a checking and savings account with 53 for over 2 years now and, due to this terrible economy have not had much money to put in the account. But I promised the bank that I would not overdraft and for two years I did just that. Finally after receving some money for a year and a half I put the check in my checking account and went straightaway home to pay bills that I hadn't paid in a long time as well as get some food for the children. I thought everthing was fine until I recieved a statement that said I HAD OVERDRAFT FEES. ONE AFTER THE OTHER ! Talk about a let down. They tell me only AFTER the event that only 100 dollars can be used that day. Yeah right. Lets see what you would do if your children were starving and the power was out at the house. Its not fair. I had the money so why say that I cant use it. Had I known that I would have cashed it elsewhere.
