My heat was out last week. My husband looked at it and knew it wasn't getting gas. I have a carrier unit. We usually use a friend but he was out of town. My husband talked to him and he said sometimes trash gets in the unit and stops it from getting gas. He told him to clean it out real good. He said it could also be the regulator. Well, it was getting cold and I decided to call a company. I had seen the commercials for A-1 American and thought they seemed honest and I liked their commercials. What a mistake! I called them they said someone would call me and be out that day, she also said he would call and them come within 30 minutes. He called at 11:30 and said 'I'll be there in 30 minutes'. He showed up at 3:30. Talks to my husband and basically told him it was the regulator and he couldn't do it until the next day (Saturday). He said it was too late to get the part (BS) and that it would cost $450.00. He barely looked at my unit and then demanded a check for $78.00. This was after he talked on his cell phone and told someone 'I don't want to do this today, I want to go home'. So I'm sure they wanted to charge overtime for a Saturday. My husband paid him, I had left the house at this point..good thing because I wouldn't have paid him.

So today I call and speak with 'Stephanie' the manager to demand my money back Of course she saw no problem, didn't care and was extremely rude! My advice? Don't use these people. I then called another company who came out and fixed the heater and charged me $115.00, there was nothing wrong with the regulator at all! They are sky high and very rude! Don't use them!
