Actiontec advertised a rebate on a 56k modem (pclite model)- this is one of those software modems that executes a TSR called pcsnoop.exe out of your registry every time you boot - this TSR wreaks havoc with most systems - lot's of blue screens - anyhow I turned in the rebate before I realized that the modem was no good - decided to shelf it since the rebate would cover most of the purchase price - sent an E-mail after 90 days to inquire on the rebate - was told that my rebate submission missed a submission deadline by 2 days and was disqualified - I had that rebate in within 1 week of purchase - this was a SCAM - avoid these guys at all costs. Went back to Circuit City and was told "too late" to return so am stuck with a worthless hunk of JUNK! - Circuit City sells a lot of these actiontec products and I have since looked around the web and heard many horror stories about them (Actiontec and Circuit City).
