Switch from postpaid to prepaid - service not yet activated!
I switched from postpaid to prepaid on 10th Apr 2007. My cell No. is 9892305265. I paid Rs. 850/- towards my last bill and Rs. 200/- towards Refilling charges for prepaid SIM. My postpaid services were deactivated from 12th Apr 2007. I received postpaid bill amounting around Rs. 500/-. Since than my prepaid services have not activated even though I personally visited ARC at Spectrum Tower, Malad, where I submitted my documents on 13th Apr 2007.
There is no satisfactory reply from Airtel.

Airtel refused to investigate ID Theft
I just discovered that an ID Thief purchased over $350 in services from Airtel.
After calling my Bank and going through the ID Theft dance, I decided to call Airtel to 1) Warn them that fraud was occuring 2) Try and cancel any unused service purchased with my debt card and 3) See if they would investigate it further and/or give me information on who used my debt card information.
1) The Airtel Reps that I spoke to told me that "it was ok, your bank will credit your account." Apparently they don't understand or care that a wrong has been committed especially as they are profiting from it.
2) No account was created with my name, so they claimed there was no way of tracking down the services purchased with my debit card. Although they allowed a user, under an account with a different name, use a credit card under a completely different name to conduct business. I asked them to track down the account of the person who used my credit card number, they refused saying they couldn't. Under any country's laws, they must keep complete and accurate records of all their transactions- what they were saying was that they didn't want to track down the user (their loyalties apparently lie with their "loyal" customers as opposed to the identify victims harmed).
3) They refused to investigate at all. They were happy that they received $350 of business, paid for by my bank. I can't understand how a company can operate like this without the Justice Department or FCC investigating them? As my bank credited my funds, its not like I can pursue them in court.
DON'T SUPPORT THIS COMPANY. Until they want to act as a responsible business, people should search elsewhere for their needs.

Irresponsible with the customer
Connection was disconnected as the verification was not done properly. For residence address verification the person has to visit customer place cross checking if the customer is available in the residence . They have return in the feedback saying that the customer is not given the address. Where as I myself have given the address, employee number, alternate contact number etc.
Over that the Airtel executive is making fun of the customer. They have not been responsible to check what is gone wrong and make the corrective action.

Non-activation of SIM Card!
I took a postpaid connection from Airtel. 6 days have passed and till now they have not activated the no given to me. I'm calling customer care services and they are telling that may be my documents have not been submitted. The concerned person have submitted all the documents and Airtel persons tell that they are working on it. Do not know when will it be activated! Their service is pathetic!

Poor customer service!
Considering Airtel as a professional company, I took a decision in haste to go for the airtel landline as well as broadband connection. In order to register me as a client, the customer care executive pitched up on the 2nd day, collected the registration amount, received all the required documents and confirmed that the phone with the broadband connection will be installed within 3 working days. I had to travel outside and when I returned after a week, I was informed by the CC executive Shankar that one document is missing. I arranged it same day itself and I was once again promised that the installation will be done next day itself. Since then, it has been 6 days and there has been no action whatsoever from airtel. Customer care executive Shankar has stopped answering my calls, let aside feeling sorry for the delay. It has been an extremely pathetic service and something like this is not expected at all from the growing company like Airtel.

India's worst service provider!
On February 12, 2007, my mobile phone suddenly showed the message SIM card registration failed. I had started using this connection since November 2006.
I called up the customer service from a PCO, they told me to go to an Airtel Gallery. When I went there the next day (Tuesday Feb 13), they told me to come on Friday (Feb 16). On Feb 16 when I went to the gallery, they told that the prepaid systems are not working. Again I went on Feb 17, again their prepaid systems were not working and they could not help me out. Then I went on Feb 19. They issued me a new SIM card charging Rs 99/- and told me that within 48 hours my phone would start functioning. After 72 hours when it did not function, I went to their gallery again (Feb 22). I stood for 2 hours in their gallery but due to the long queue of customers, I could not get to them. Then I went again on Feb 26, and this time they told me that it will start functioning in 24 hours. It is more than 24 hours now and still I am with a disconnected phone connection - and I am in this situation since the past 16 days.
Now if this is not the country's worst service provider, then nothing else can be!!!

Billing problems and customer harassment!
I had made a full and final payment for my IBM CUG corporate Airtel connection on 27-01-2006. I have all the proofs by way of bill payment receipt. Even after settling the account, Airtel has filed a case against me. It is beyond my understanding how Airtel can harass me even after bill payment. I am facing this harassment for the past one year by the Airtel people calling up again and again in the pretext of different people. I don't get any response for the mails forwarded to higher authorities of Airtel. After every 3 months, a different lawyer calls up for the bill payment.
I am left with no other choice than to file a case against Airtel in the consumer court for causing me mental agony.

Billing problems!
I have never activated the regional roaming on my mobile but i have been charged for the regional roaming service when i contacted the customer care service they have told that the regional roaming service is activated since may2004 and when i complained on 15-feb-2007 they told me that it has been deactivated on 05-jan-2007 but i have not even told them to deactivate. How can a service be activated and deactivated without the confirmation from the subscriber. I don't know how this problem has been arised and customer care is not giving me any information about this.

GPRS not getting deactivated
I am really fed up with Airtel services, it very irritating ...
I had requested for my GPRS deactivation and for my refund for the unnecessary deduction from my account, but no action taken.
I had activated GPRS on 26th jan morning and tried to deactivate it that night itself, but was not deactivated. I tried with 56562 more than 10 times on the following days but still not deactivated.
Every day I receive the message “Your balance is deducted by Rs.12 for your VAS download.”
GPRS is not getting deactivate, it is not my fault. From so many days I am trying to deactivate it.
I have call up your customer care executive to find the status about the GPRS, sometime they say GPRS is active and sometime they say GPRS is deactivated. How automatically this activation happen??
And every day my balance is deducted by Rs.12
Costumer care executive doest not care you when you try to talk with them.

Connection delay
I had applied for a post paid number on the 25th of January, and I was told that my number would be activated by evening. Till today, i.e 27th of January my number has not been activated. When I called up the post-paid helpline number, I was told the number alloted to me( 9810026944) and the SIM (8991100610068101721) already exists with some other customer. I bought the number from the Airtel showroom in New Friends Colony, and had furnished my id proof and residential proof as required. It was shocking to know that such an incident happened, and I would not be surprised If nobody from Airtel corrects the error.
