I bought a Blackberry 8900 CASH and within the 7 day "out of box" warranty period returned the phone to Altech Cellular as the "o" was intermittent. First I was threatened that if they found nothing wrong with the phone I would be liable for the cost of the replacement. I accepted that as I had spent 6 days wondering if it was just me not getting my fingers around my new phone. I was then told that they did not have any in stock to replace it with. The following day I was phoned to be told that in fact my phone could not be accepted as it had a "scratch" on it. When I argued that I hadnt even taken the plastic off the screen Iwas told that I had signed the document and that if I wanted to come and see the phone for myself I could. i realised I was in a no win situation. Did I want it sent in for repairs? Yes of course-I had spent a lot of money on a phone that had a factory fault!! I am now still without a blackberry yet paying the BIB subscription. I am told it will take up to a month. Surely there is some accountability here.
