Recently, I bought cotton fabric - salwar kameej from "Anantam" - a very reputed women fashion store in MGF Mall, Gurgaon (Address: Anantam, FF-8,9 The MGF Metropolitan Mall, MG Road, Gurgaon, Ph-: (91)-124-4103648, 4103649).

The fabric being cotton was very high priced - Rs 2100+ as it was designer wear and to my utter astonishment in the first wash there was color bleed from one of the threads. Poor quality thread was used and when I approached the store sales staff they told me that they were not "responsible for the "quality" of the product.

I requested that I would like to speak with the shop owner and deposited the fabric with them so that they could show it to the owner - however the sales staff keep dilly-dallying and when I did not receive any response after 10 days I approached the shop staff again, the sales staff told me that it was against the policy of the store to replace "defective products" as they were not responsible for the quality and they returned the defective fabric back to me without any replacement. When I informed them that I would approach consumer court, they told me that I could do that as they do not claim responsibility of the quality of the product.
