Difficulty cancelling the account
It took me almost one-half hour to cancel my AOL account. I attempted to cancel my account at 11:00 pm EST, because I thought I could reach customer service a lost faster. I was completely wrong.
The first customer service agent disconnected me after waiting for about 20 minutes to get through. The second said she could not assist me because her computer could not pull up my account. I asked for a supervisor waited about 25 minutes but no one came to the phone. I could hear the AOL customer service agents in the background but they would not exhibit basic politeness and tell me to call back,
I tried for over half-an-hour to reach someone but to no avail. Finally after about 10 or more attempts at redialing I reached someone. He wanted to know why I was cancelling my service, I had to laugh and only said I have a less expensive service please cancel AOL. He tried to to make various offers which I ignored and finally at about 12:20am EST, I had cancelled AOL, good riddance.

Service sucks!
I don't have a business, but I have used AOL since I got my first computer, now I have a complaint, over a week ago I had to reinstall all of my computer programs, when I had AOL reinstalled and called your service, I told them I already have an account and gave them all they needed, this went fine, then I was told since I was a long time costumer of AOL, that I was qualified to get a $50.00 gift certificate from you for Wal Mart, and I would get it in a few days, well the time has passed and no gift certificate, was this an empty promise just to make me feel good or what. Not such a happy costumer now.

Sick sense of humor
Under the tab "Comedy", AOL made available a video clip of a young woman's phobia with pickles on a sub-humane talk show hosted by Maury. As she screamed and ran through the audience to avoid the pickles, one could see the audience laughing. I do not question that the lady gave permission for this to be posted; I question AOL's lack of good taste and common sense in airing it. The caption said that Maury 'helped' her get over her aversion to pickles which intrigued me because aversion therapy can take a good number of sessions to succed. Instead, I was shocked to realize I had been bated and I felt violated in watching this woman be tortured. How sick is AOL willing to be?

No success to retrieve information
ON June 5th 2006, I received the following Email from AOL.
NOTICE: AOL® Gift Reminders service to be Discontinued
To our valued Gift Reminders Subscribers,
The AOL® Shopping Gift Reminders service will be discontinued on June 5, 2006. If you would like to retain any information you have stored within the service, please go to AOL Keyword: Gift Reminders within the next 60 days. After that time, your stored information will no longer be available.
To continue keeping track of your important gift giving occasions, we recommend using the AOL "Remind Me" feature. Go to AOL Keyword: "Remind Me" and you will be prompted to add your events to your personal calendar. You will also be able to have your reminders sent to you via IM or email.
I have tried since receiving this with no success to retrieve the information that AOL said would be available for 60 days with absolutely no results. I have talked and emailed to tech support and they don't seem to understand or want to help solve this dilemma. I was told they would be transferred to my calendar-they were not, Then I was told they would refer it to a system engineer but I have never received any further communication . Ending this type of service without adequate notice is inexcusable and if I can't retrieve the information I will be ending a 10+ year association with AOL (I paid my children's membership long before I had my own screen name! )

You've Got Pictures is the PITS
I hate how hard AOL has made it now to download your pictures. They use to have nice Albums that you could decorate. Now you have to drag your pictures to get them in the spot you want to make your Album. UPGRADE my foot. Every time they upgrade something on AOL it is worst. I have had AOL for years, and this picture business is the Worst. Wake up AOL are you are going to be finding yourself at the bottom of the stock market..
AOL You've Got Pictures.... YUCK
