I had an 800 # through AT&T and advertised it on our business ad in the yellowpages at $1200.00 a month for 12 months. 9 months into the ad, I find out the 800 # has been disconnected and sold to another company 14 months previous. In the mean time, I am getting billed monthly with received calls from out of state callers, through this line, when my main line, (that the 800 # was call fowarded into) was disconnected. That means I somehow answered a call from a #, directed to another company, on my disconnected phone, and even talked for 3 minutes. Every ethical practice of business was breeched. When I contacted the FCC 4 times, They said they would check into it and get back to me. Each time they said, AT&T said "it was resolved, Case Closed". AT&T expected us to pay for the Advertizing and was going to take us to court for not paying. I had to claim bankruptcy only because I refused to pay them to burn me. I am only a small business, but thats no reason to not get proper representation from the FCC. Makes me mad, you put your trust into these large corps. expecting the excellent service received in the day when good work ethics were a common practice, and somewhere down the road this company changes policies which consist of deception, greed and disrespect, and they don't let you know till it's too late and they've burned you. It's a sad direction this country is going in.
