2 years ago i signed up for a 'special' at&t internest/phone 'deal'. this was for $56.25 a month for both. i saw this on tv and immediatly called to signup. in the eight days i had the service i had to replace 2 modems, and they system still did not work. i cancelled the serivice and went back to comcast. a few weeks later i received a bill for my 8 days and it was over $350.00. their excuse: i never cancelled the serivice. both i and comcast notified them of the cancellation. they say they never got it. regardless of the fact, why were they charging me that much money. they said it was because i made a long distance call (this was supposed to be free long distance), and besides i made the call AFTER i went back to comcast. i notifed the public sercvice commision and they of absolutely NO HELP!!! all they did was forward emails form me to them, and them to me. i called them every month for a year. oct 2007 i finally gave up. they said i had to pay the bill or they would send it to collection, and my credit report. i said 'send it on because i am not paying you a dime for non-service'. this is still on my credit report, and they make no effort to work w/me on the bill. i worked for at&t for 20 years. i will NEVER purchase another item or service from them as long as i live! don't you get into their spider web of deceit either.
