I was shocked and highly insulted when Avion Systems said their client, AT&T, required that I give up my Social Security number over the phone to Avion Systems to submit together with my resume and a list of answers to their questions (i.e. Rate, Visa Status, Current Location, Availability date, phone number). I guess Avion knew it would be offensive and probably illegal to require a S.S. number before any interviews, so they didn't include it in their original list of questions to answer. This is the first time in decades that I ever complained about a recruiter, but their request certainly deserves a complaint! Two more problems with their job email and ad are: 1) The job email and ad don't explicitly state that it's a contract position for AT&T, so it appears like a permanent position for Avion Systems. 2) The job email and ad appear as though Avion Systems is the hiring company and don't mention that Avion Systems is acting as a recruiter for AT&T. Overall, they really ticked me off.
