Guidance counselors and teachers BEWARE! Barbizon has a crafty Public Relations program designed to get leads that is nothing more than a ruse. They go into schools under a "leadership" and "scholarship" ploy just to get names and addresses from unsuspecting parents of teens and children as young as 12-years old. They say, they give away a $100, 000 scholarship every year to one lucky student out of the tens of thousands that enter. I have not checked the legitimacy of the scholarship out so I can't say either way on that...my problem is that they are getting private information from under age students to use as their modeling school sales leads without the knowledge of the parents. TEACHER'S & GUIDANCE COUNSELORS BEWARE, you may get some angry parents calling you. They ALSO go into malls and get the same information from UNDER AGE CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS 8-YEARS OLD. They then call the parents with their "telemarketing scheme" to say their child has won a make-over and photo shoot...of course the winners have to pay for the pictures if they want to keep them and the goal is to get the parent to spend several thousand dollars on their modeling school program. It's all too scammy like ...I understand how the "enter to win" marketing ploys work but this just doesn't seem right when you do it with CHILDREN.
