We purchased travel insurance for a Princess Cruise August, 2010. We paid for the trip and travel insurance 6/4/10. Then, shortly after that, I began having inflammation in my stomach area. I went to my family doctor and he referred me to the Women's clinic at Shands. Dr. Morgan examined me and said that cancer was a possibility but we wouldn't know for sure til my surgery. Surgery was done 6/22 and it turned out to be cancer. Once we started treatment, it became obvious that I wouldn't be able to make the cruise. We filed a claim and it has been denied twice--they say I had symptoms prior to 6/4. If I had thought I would not be able to make the cruise I certainly would not have made the final payment. Ovarian cancer does not show symptoms--I did not have symptoms in the 60 days prior to paying for the cruise and insurance.
