Laptop warranty service
Ok, here goes. I tried to take my laptop out of its case, which is snug, it flew out of my hands and the screen cracked, so did the casing. I called up Geek Squad (at 12n in the morning who were very nice and helpful. I needed to get things off of it and they told be a could hood it up to a regular monitor, however I found up the computer wasn't working right and took many tries to copy and paste the info for school) I took it to the store, and the one guy who looked at it, and probably the most knowledgeable in the store told me that it was probably done for. I looked at other ones comparable, with one of the associates, and pick out and paid for with my bill money untill I got reimbursed from the "send away" geek squad that they could not repair it) It came back "fixed" HAHAHAHAHA YEAH RIGHT. This is an HP that is only 6 months old that I had no issues with beforehand, none nada. Well I started it up at the store and looked at it, and it was running slower then normal, and told the Best Buy guy, who was like Arab (he had a turban on) He went into Word and started typing, adn guess what it did not type, so he opened up another word and it was delayed. I was told to take it home for three days and see how it workds. I said that doesn't make sense, but he would not do anything about it. The next day, the computer shut down by itself, not update shut down, like shut the heck down. I called the store and got "normal guy" and he said it was probably the hard drive, which I agree with him. I couldn't get it there that day because it was my son's birthday. I took it in on Monday, which was 3 days after I picked it up, to give them the courtesy of not having my kids run around the store etc (They are going with me tomorrow, and I am buying alot of chocolate before they go in, maybe even fart putty, too) and the word stopped responding RIGHT IN FRONT OF ANOTHER EMPLOYEE, and was told computers freeze sometimes, now this was after I explained that it shut down, it froze on me, it skipped lineswhile typing (not hitting the mouse etc) This computer is only used for classes, had no files on it, except maybe three pictures and the documents, which maybe total 30 at the most on it. I was told that I couldn't leave it because I did not have my power cord, even though the hooked it up to one right there. The next time I came in I explained to the guy again very nice (Different Geek) and the main did not respond for him (See were this is going) It stayed overnight there and they said there was no problems. AGAIN YEAH OK I'M BLONDE BUT NOT TOTALLY DUMB. It freezes still and now I cannot activate my virus scan, and I have a this is a test wword document as an icon, like to prove a point, When I went there today I was told they could not replicate the issues, which I stated it happened right here, (Like really it's a decent computer and I'm not a CEO, and I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO GO TO A STORE WITH COMPLAINTS OVER AND OVER AGAIN TO BE TALKED TO LIKE I AM DUMB AND/OR TRYING TO GET SOMETHING FOR FREE) I talked to the guy who brought out my computer and told him that the guy who wore the turban SAW it freezing, and so did the one guy. Turban guy came out and said it froze for 2 seconds, and I was like no it did not you were typing on it and had to close it and reopen it to type, and we can pull the videos from that day and see what they show. He walked away, no apoligies nothing. (douche) I explained to the guy again he told me to take it home, and nice dude was like I had no idea of this, and he said well the software could have been corrupted when it fell and we can try a system restore, and I said It WAS restored already when it was sent out, and if I thought that that would correct it I would do it (duhh) I told them I do not have time for this (nicely believe it or not) and can do that at home, wellllll tonight I can't do it it won't allow me too, AND I can't scan for viruses, it won't let me and did the other day. They screw it up more and more. I am poed to say the least.
Also in regards to the other laptop that I did return, the money did not hit my acount yet, I called up customer relations, and spoke to someone who was very nice, explained the situation, with the money, which was the reason why I called that number, because I was told to by an associate, and explained what had happened. He talked to the store manager about the issue, and stated that they could work something out with me, about this, when I talked to the Geek Squad today, adn mentioned it they did not even get him, call him NOTHING, ok seriously and you wonder why people are shopping at the hated walmart, the bane of everyone's existance oh and craig's list and ebay I HOPE AND PRAY THAT TARGET STARTS UP WITH SELLING COMPUTERS I REALLY DO. I have been a regular customer of best buy with many of my purchases, cds dvds, tvs, and never had a problem, even open boxes, (the dvd player after 9 years still works, hence my reason for going there) I bought a tv after "helping" the earth and getting alot of crap of craiglist, with older tubes (they ended up breaking, i could care less about the picture, everyone's worried about money) Its a fing slap in the face it really is especially when you can get better prices online, and then they will wonder why their stores are closing BECAUSE YOUR SERVICE SUCKS SOME SHOULD BRING BACK CIRCUIT CITY THEY SUCKED BUT THEY WEREN'T THIS BAD.

Extremely Poor Geek Squad Repair Service
On the 7th of May, 2011, I sent in my Acer Desktop PC to the Geek Squad repair service. I had an extended repair warranty with the store, and therefore I was able to utilize their service. I knew that there service would be poor from the beginning, but I did not expect it to be so terrible. Today is the 14th of June. My computer is still not back. The problem with it was that it would not start up. So they replaced some parts, which took them about 4 weeks to do, and sent it back to my local Best Buy store. At the store, they did some poor testing without trying to fix the issue themselves, and sent it back to the depot. So it has been over 5 weeks. I constantly call Geek Squad, yet they hardly have any status updates for me. Every time I call, they say will say something along the lines of "We will call the repair depot if we do not get a respond back by email within 48 hours"... Yeah right. They told me that last week as well and I still don't have a reply. When I asked if I could contact the depot my self, they gave me the phone number, knowing that I would not be able to talk to anyone there. Specific extension numbers are required to talk to departments at the depot. By the way, when I looked up the repair depot's phone number (6044195613), I found out that it is extremely possible that my computer is in British Columbia. I live in Ontario. That distance is just ridiculous. I deeply regret giving my computer to Best Buy. There service lacks quality and speed. Their agents are lazy and often lie. Stay away from Geek Squad.
P.S. My DESKTOP computer is listed as a LAPTOP at Geek Squad and I cannot get that fixed. What is that all about?
