This company has been harassing me for four or five years now, for an amount that was charged off and sold to them by Credit One Bank. They have been asking for an amount due when I tried to settle with them before the interest charges were added five years ago. So, they tacked on a bunch of fees then they sent me a letter asking me to pay them for a reasonable amount by a certain date. I made the payment way before the due date, but they held on to the check that I sent them for a solid month, so that it was then "past due" so that they deal that they had made with me was nullified. Very tricky, eh? Now, they can come after me for well forever, I suppose, even though I paid them. These people, Brachfeld Law and LVNV funding are horrible, evil people who are making life miserable. I have the feeling that I will be harassed by them until I am dead in the grave, when I don't even owe them a penny.
