I downloaded Cat Talking on a whim, mostly because my cat never stops meowing at me and I wanted to play along. It turned out to be a fun little app. The main draw is the two-way translator. I held my phone up, recorded a meow, and the app gave me a plain-language reading of what my cat was supposedly saying. Then I flipped it around, spoke into the phone, and heard my own words come back as cat sounds. My cat didn't answer any of life's big questions, but we both had a good time. What I liked most were the ready-made phrases. Things like "Feed me" and "Play with me" are already voiced in cat form, so you just tap and go. There's also a vocabulary section that sorts sounds by situation, which is a nice touch when you want to call your cat over or try to settle it down. The app saves every recording to a personal history, so I could replay the funnier moments and send a few to friends. I have two cats, and I liked that each one gets its own profile with a separate log. The AI Studio was an unexpected bonus. I uploaded a photo of me and my cat, picked a style, and it made a shared image to keep. There are a few small mini-games too, good for killing a few minutes. To be clear, this is entertainment, not science. Cat Talking doesn't actually decode animal speech, and it doesn't claim to. But if you want a lighthearted way to goof around with your pet, it delivers exactly that. Worth a try for any cat lover.
