Went to Eastern Mountain Sports to buy my wife Mother's Day gifts totaling $421. Much to my surprise my check was declined. When asked why, they said they didn't know, they go though Certegy. Furious and embarrassed I asked for the number for Certegy. Certegy said there was no reason for my denial - no bounced checks, no fraudulent activity with my license number - NOTHING! They said the model their computer system uses, calculates the risk factors and I was a high risk...WTF. Nothing to base their denial on except a computer model! Very disturbing and aggravating to say the least. I walked out of the store feeling and probably looking like a loser. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO GO!!!
