I am a self employed plasterer. I got asked to do the 'kids with terminal cancer wall planner' some time ago. The only proof I ever had that it existed was a very poor quality sample copy that came to me in a tatty tube with an invoice for £595.00 and the small print stated that just 5% of this would go to a Merseyside charity that has nothing to to with children. I never saw any displayed anywhere even though I was told fifty thousand would be distributed and displayed in Lea-on-Sea. For these reasons I refused to pay. They tried to bully me at first telling me that my credit rating would be affected, they also said would send debt collectors to repossess my furniture and other valuable belongings. I knew this to be rubbish, they are not licenced debt collectors, and I never signed anything. Eventually they stopped calling and sending nasty letters when they realised they were getting nothing out of me. The whole episode has put me off donating to any charities which is a shame.
