I did work for Chris Jackson of Urban builders and was never paid. I did some searching and found unpaid workers back to last august, which means he knew when he hired me that he could not pay, he's just been stringing a bunch of people along. It appears that he is entering bankruptcy, so beware if you hire him for contracting work. Also I noticed most of the work done on the house was shoddy, such as tile directly on the wood floor without cement backerboard. I also looked up his name with the proper authorities, and there is no business with the name Urban builders out of the Grand Rapids area. There is one down near detroit with a different owner, and that appears to be legit.
