Business Manager sales tactics
Made a deal on a new car with one of their salesmen that I was very pleased with (the car, the deal, and the salesman). Go back to take delivery of the car less than a week later and I get sent in to see the business manager who is the complete opposite of the salesman I worked with. This guy tried every trick in the book to try to get me to pay extra for everything from extended warranties to rust proofing, to "key care" (whatever the heck that is?). When I wasn't biting he got really arrogant and started yelling at me and calling me "rude" in front of my wife who was there with me. Funny thing was that all I was saying to him was the words "no thank you" each time he tried to sell me some type of extra - what a tool this guy was! He then insulted me when I crossed out the charge from VIN etching on the contract before I signed it (which was several hundred dollars) and he basically said that I knew nothing about contracts. Sad for him is the fact that I write and negotiate multi-million dollar contracts for a living and knew exactly what I was doing (protecting myself by making sure the contract accurately reflected the deal). After my wife jumped in and started enlightening him to this fact he finally folded like the cheap suit tool that he was. Unfortunately, this was a lot more stress than I like to burn on what should have been a simple car purchase. Avoid the business manager at this place at all costs or be prepared to be taken through the wringer. I guess some people succumb to these tactics but it is really a disgraceful way to do business. AVOID.
