Why would Annette Stewart of the KZN Division of the RMI take a consumers complaints against their member Newcastle VW and twist the entire complaint?
First she said that they cannot do anything about our complaints due to us opening a police case against their member.
After posting complaints on hellopeter.com about RMI, she called me to confirm that she will be sending the member a letter of suspension.

Then she twisted the entire complaint whereby she put together a "biased" review wherein she has twisted our entire complaint facts and events to make it look like we have complained falsely against the RMI member, Newcastle VW.

What is most disgusting is that Annette has confirmed that the dealer [RMI member] has done repairs in January 2009 to our vehicle and charged these repairs to an expired warranty, which warranty expired in September 2008, and she confirms that the RMI member has not breached their code of conduct.
Is that not a criminal act by the dealer?, by charging an expired warranty.
Is this now allowed in South Africa?
CEO-Jeff Osborne has responded by closing the file as he states that his kzn branch have "acted correctly".
I have offered to pay for 3 inspections of the vehicle but the RMI has decided that their member has not wronged.
The RMI has never inspected the vehicle.
How can they close the file without inspecting?
I provided adequate proof and a valid assessors report to confirm that their member has indeed defaulted.
The RMI's behaviour is suspicious and is of great concern as consumers are being bluffed by their motto "Our voice is your peace of mind".
What voice and what peace of mind?

We have been without this R210 000.00 car now for 113 days and counting.
Just what the hell is going on in the motor industry?

It is imperative that consumers countrywide are aware of these ridiculous activities in the motor industry so that consumers are well informed before making purchases from dealers bearing the RMI membership.

It is indeed sad that an organisation like the RMI can manipulate valid complaints and protect their member instead of assisting aggrieved consumers.

This is blatant abuse of their dominant position in the motor industry and cannot be allowed in this day and age.

For us in future when we buy cars, the first question to the dealer will be:
Are you an RMI member ?
If yes...it's goodbye.
