I have been a customer of CVS regularly for the past two years - i shop there about every two weeks. But no more after the way i was treated tonight at this CVS. I was a victim of identity threat last week - someone broke into my workplace and stole the finance persons computer. So i had to change my bank account. I have new cheques but they dont have my name typed on them yet. I asked before i went around the store to grab some things if it would be ok to pay with a cheque. I had ID - a drivers license, and my cvs card which i have used regularly. I went through the whole process and had my shopping in a bag and then it turns out that actually since i had to write my name into the address part of the cheque that they couldnt accept it. It was very embarrassing and i felt from their reaction - the clerk and the manager who came quickly around the corner and who pretty much ignored anything i said - i felt like i was passing a forged cheque, or was doing something illegal as indicated by their reaction. I contrast this with my experience at Trader Joes - where they never ever treat you like a criminal - it seems a funny form of customer service and helps me decide not to shop there again and to share this experience with everyone i know.
