Cure CVS
I'm working with the Cure CVS campaign. More info at www.curecvsnow.org

The Boston Globe has described CVS as "by far the most penalized of any retailer" in Massachusetts when it comes to fines for overcharging customers and other pricing violations.

Email me at deanne. [email protected] to tell me about your experience with CVS.

pharmacist
Pharmacist extremely rude on phone when I called with a question. The problem was basically a miscommunication/error on the pharmacy's behalf which he was unwilling to admit. I told him he needed some customer service training, to which he replied that he had numerous awards & plaques for his excellence in customer service...Hmmmmm...CVS must have very low standards! I'm transferring my scripts across the street to Walgreens!!! Bye, Bye CVS!!!

Evil, heartless manager!
This CVS is located on a busy intersection. I stopped there on April 2, 2009 to get a few things on my way home from work around 5:30 (rush hour traffic). I was standing in line at the cash register when I heard another customer say, "Hey, there's a dog in here." Sure enough, around the corner came an adorable little puppy wagging her tail and jumping all over me. I work at a local pet care facility here in Fort Wayne so I'm sure the smell of the many dogs I come in contact with daily attracted the puppy to me. I tried to keep her near me in the store so I could take her home and proceed to find her owners. The manager of CVS came and picked her up and threw her out into the parking lot with no collar, leash or any supervision while I was still in line. Traffic was zooming by on the streets and he just didn't give a hoot. I wanted to scream at him at the top of my lungs for being such a heartless bastard but evil like that can feel no remorse, what would have been the point. So I shot him the evil eye while he walked through the store with a big, mean, scowl on his stupid face. I left my things at the counter and ran out to grab the puppy before she got hit by a car and brought her home. I contacted Animal Control to file a found report. Unfortunately, Animal Control is just as prejudiced and ignorant as the majority of America about Pit Bulls. This was a puppy, not even a year old, and sweet as could be but since she's a Pit Bull, if the owner didn't come for her within 3 days, Animal Control would euthanize her. Now, my thoughts on that are a whole 'nother story and I'll probably write a complaint about that, too. So, I called the local SPCA, who are lovingly known for being a no-kill shelter but they didn't have any room for her. Now she's living in my basement until I hear from the owners or 30 days pass and I will be considered her guardian, in which case I will find her a good home.
Point is, even if having a dog in the store is frowned upon by management, throwing a harmless and helpless animal into the busy streets is frowned upon by everyone who has at least a little bit of heart. I told him I was going to take her with me and he threw her out anyway, with not a bit of consideration for the animal's safety or the concern of the customers who were watching this whole ordeal.
Even though this CVS is about 3 blocks away from my home, I think I'll travel the extra half-mile to Walgreen's from now on until that jerk is gone.
Customer Service is not just about service. It's about being human, with feelings, integrity, and compassion. This man had none.

customer service
Took place at the CVS located on 1249 Nostrand Ave, Brooklyn NY 11225<br />

I was overlooked and dismissed by the pharmacist Ms. Mei Xu. After waiting, as Ms. Xu attended to another customer, a middle age male customer walked up to the counter and stood along side of me. Ms. Xu, immediately attended to this gentle. I informed Ms. Xu, that I was next in line, she ignored me and continued to follow through with the middle age gentlemen, asking him is name. I said nothing and patiently waited to be serviced. As a young woman, I felt discriminated against. Most importantly, I recently moved into this neighbor and always filled my prescriptions at locate, "mom and pa" pharmacies because they welcome and treat me with respect. Ms. Xu never asked the question, “whose next?” Nor, did Ms. Xu apologize for her behavior. It is my earnest hope that this matter be looked into, in order to restore customer value.

Rude cashier and manager on return
I went for returning 2 bottles of shampoos which I purchased 3 days before. The cashier is really hesitated to accept the return, and said “I know you people”, complained people use it then return. Finally she did the refund but ignored my present and asks her to have a better attitude to the return. A manager named Zach Vrban got involved, and he is ruder than the cashier, but simply not listen to my complaint on CVS customer service attitude and just insist that they had did the return. He did put the 800 number to me but at 8:10pm no one answer the call.
This is the first time an unpleasant return I got, and I didn’t expect it came from CVS. I always thought they’re a better running store with well care to the customers. Went back I did some research on CVS’s reputation, and just found out that many people had this or that bad experience with CVS and, compared with their much higher price, why I need shop at CVS, and deserve this kind of treatment. Last winter I spend over 400 dollars there according to the receipt. I’m very regret for my blind spending and promise here not shopping with CVS anymore, and will transfer my family’s prescriptions as well. With so many any choices, why I need get my day harder?!
Friends, plan ahead a little bite, buy at Walmart, Kmart, Groceries stores, you can save yourself much more by applying their coupons at CVS.

Double/Duplicate Charge
CVS seems to give me problems all the time. I have experienced unpoliteness, rudeness and bad customer service on several occasions at the CVS located in Waukegan, IL. They have very unprofessional employees with little knowledge. They charged me twice last week. I called their manager Ed and explained to him. He refused to give me refund back and denying double charge on my card. According to the manager, it was voided on his side. My card shows 2 duplicate charges at the same time. I was told that one charge has been voided due to the cashiers mistake but it still went through. The store manager, Ed has no time to talk to me or look into this matter and said he's too busy. He advised me to file a complaint to contact my card. The process will take forever to resolve and I have to put all this effort to get my refund back because the cashier made a mistake. This is ridiculous. I am just going to stop shoppoing at CVS. I will eventually get my money back after all the paper work and compaint. It's time consuming for nothting.

Missing narcotics
I have severe arthritis requiring narcotics on a regular basis for relief. There have been numerous times where my medications have run out sooner than expected and I was unable to fill my perscriptions because it was too soon. A friend had told me that she along with several othes have had issues with their narcotics being filled at the CVS store in Callahan and that they have to count them at the counter when they receive them because many times the scripts are shy several pills.

I had a hard time believing this, but when I picked up a new script in the drive through for hydrocodone, the bag felt lighter than normal, so I pulled around to the CVS parking lot and counted my pills. I was issued 60 instead of 90. Missing 30 pills. THIRTY. When I went in, they apologized, but aparently nobody counted? I thought narcotics have to be counted. Makes me wonder is something more going on in little ole Callahan Florida? Many complaints, and for some reason only narcotics...hmmmmmm.

Rude Employees
This CVS has a terrible habit of following innocent customers around the store. On several occasions, myself and my adult kids have been followed from aisle to aisle by one or more of the employees in the store. It's in this particular CVS that we and a few others have experienced this type of behavior from the employees and management. I have lived and shopped in CVS for many years. Needless to say, I will NEVER shop (or anyone that I know) at CVS on Polifly Road in Hackensack again. The employees are extremely rude and discourteous. The store is never fully stocked and there is never anyone available for help. The lines are ALWAYS long and there is always only one (1) cashier available. Totally incompetent and extremely mismanaged. CVS should re-stock the store with all new employees, ... starting with the management!

I will be shopping at Duane Reade or Rite Aid from now on!!!

Customer service
I went to the CVS store on 41st street on Miami Beach today (02/13/09) and received the worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. I have had a few bad experiences in the past but always gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today, I asked for help with some "family planning" items that were locked up and a young lady was very nice and helped me in an efficient manner. When I was done I asked her if I can check out at the pharmacy since the line was quite long in the main entrance and I wanted to go out through the other door anyway. She said "no problem, they are open". When I got back to the pharmacy, the pharmacist was helping another customer and I waited in line. When it was my turn, I went up and the pharmacist (Ricardo Lopez) told me to go to the front counter. I asked him why and that he just helped the previous customer. He told me he was busy and did not have time to help me. I was shocked and said "isn't the customer more important" and he said no he is not a cashier and to go upfront. I proceeded to ask him for the manager and he told me he was the manager. I told him to give his boss's name and he was reluctant but now there were people watching so he gave it to me and gave more attitude. That is when, unfortunately, I got vulgar and told him he had no manners and he was part of the reason why this country was in the trouble it was in and walk away. I will never go to CVS again and I will make sure to tell as many people as possible.
