D. Thomas Construction were hired to carry out some fairly straightforward building work. A deposit was paid up-front for materials. The work was carried out so badly and so slowly that you'd laugh at the mistakes they made if you weren't paying for them. There were lots of excuses. David Thomas, when asked several weeks in to the job to provide a breakdown of how the deposit had been spent due to doubts about his character and his son Damian's ability to carry out the work to a satisfactory standard, deliberately altered prices in his favour, charging for work that had not been done and for materials not seen or mentioned previously. They used cheap materials to further increase their profit and overcharged for them. Their work is very much sub-standard and repairs have since been necessary. David Thomas eventually admitted "mistakes" with his figures yet still disputes that he owes any money back, so will now have to convince the small claims court of this. Avoid these cowboys. They really are hopeless, shameless, unreliable time-wasters and should not be trusted with even the simplest of jobs. If you ask about them locally, you'll hear plenty of stories about how bad they are.
