poor service
last night we ordered 2 vanilla milk shakes. many people {all mexicans} came in and were served before us. my husband asked 3 times where our shakes were & was told they were coming. when he went to complain again he saw them setting on the counter. we feel we were discriminated against. we are not travelers we live here and frequent this dq but will probably not go there again

Food at Dairy Queen # 166
I travel a lot and I like to stop a Dairy Queen for a Chilli Cheese Hot Dog and a blizzard for a quick meal. When I stopped at the store in Thomson GA for my quick meal, I found out the all Dairy Queens are not created equal. I got the mos disgusting hot dog you could imagine. I think they microwaved it so long I could not pick it up with my bare hands. The dog was .. well, it didn't look like hot dog anymore. My advice is stay away from this place. I can't imagine that they only serve bad hot dogs.

called in order
on apr. 21, 2011 at 17:50 i called in an order, that was taken by rebecca [no. 010], witch was an order of steak finger basket 6 pieces, with an extra gravy. when i got it, and brought it home, i found that the extra gravy was not in the order, so i had to go back to get the gravy. the idea was to call in and save time, but instead it took longer. and this is not the first time. they do this about 50% of the time.

can't make change
We went to Dairy Queen ordered our food and was first overcharged then the cashier did not have the change fund to give me the change back so I gave her the coins and expected her to know to give me back the bill, but she couldn't because she could not count the money from what she had in her hand and what was on the register. This is not an a one time happening at this location I have been overcharged and shorted change on a average of every second to third time I visit this store. When called on this they throw a fit and act like I am a pariah on society. Too bad for them I am a
business owner in the area and have lots of contacts myself and the word will get out to watch your money or try the other location in Austell or at Avenue West. The main problem is this was a family member of the owner not a regular employee who would have been fired for lack of knowledge. Oh well family comes first I hope they remember that when the bills come due.

unlawful emploment
I am someone who loves going to dairy queen, but THe one I go too, it seems as though its unlawful emplyment, I heard that, the owner has been paying his employers with cash, not paystubs, that they havent even gotten uniforms, and been working there for two months, sexiest that he only hires women, that one man was hired, but was fired, and one girl working there, hard worker, she is being replace because she stood up for what was right, that how he ws taking adventage of the young employers he was hiring, I wish I could do sometihng about becasue these young people just want to work, and how he treats them, and I go there at least twice a week, and its just horrible employment there! Its the one on N. Rainbow, and W. Charaleston, AS I know, I wouldnt want to work in that kind of place with that many ilegal things going on, and the lack of respect and employment.

Everyday Customer
I want to start off by saying, I love Dairy Queen. However, I am a "valued customer". Meaning I go their at least once a day. If I can. I order a turtle pecan cluster EXTRA PECANS, and light on the chocolate. If anyones knows, it is an Extra $1.00 for anything extra to be put into your blizzard. So by time I walk out of there, I pay $5.00 + for a medium blizzard. A MEDIUM!! And on top of that, THERE NEVER IS EXTRA ANYTHING IN IT. NEVER!!! it pisses me off. Not only did I pay extra, but I paid an outrageous price as it is.. So, to solve this little problem, I drive any extra couple miles away just to go to one where they actually put extra stuff in the blizzard. Ridiculous isnt it?? Just for them to forget once as well.
On my way to work today, I decided to go to the one on Thompson & Emerson Ave. This old corn fed woman was so rude. She didnt speak to me, nor did she give me ANY pecans.. Oops I take that back there was MAYBE 5. I am so aggrivated by this. I just want them to please start adding extra stuff. It isnt personally coming out of your pocket like it is mine so please quit being so greedy with the shhhh... lol

Unclean, unprofessional, uncaring
As an employee of Dairy Queen for almost 2 years (sadly), I've witnessed a great many sights that will ensure I never spend money at this certain Dairy Queen ever again (and possibly every other DQ will be boycotted). within a few months of starting, I was told that I needed to supply my own vinyl gloves in the kitchen, at a cost of roughly $16 a week. over the course of one calander year, I spent over $850 on gloves. So I try to get a form signed so I can get reimbursed with my Taxes (as a work expense), and the owners claim they won't sign it because they are afraid of an audit. just a bit shady? I've also been denied pay raises because the store doesn't make enough money to properly pay its hard-working employees, just enough to send the owner's on several world vacations every year (I've seen what we make in sales on a daily basis, it's not chump change). We are forced to work with utensils and containers that are broken, and stained with foodstuff. The owners treat the food stock in the store as their own personal fridge, allowing not just the owners, but the owner's family members to walk into the back, and handle food without washing their hands. the manager, and the bosses will stand in plain sight of customers -and- employees, chatting and playing with their phones, then going straight to food prep or serving. There's an infestation of mice underneath our outside freezer and cooler, and the traps they have, have been sitting in the same place since before I started 2 years ago. we constantly deal with leaky faucets, leaky pipes, leaky dishwashers, leaky deep fryers, and leaky ice cream machines. Our weekday morning kitchen person refuses to do even basic cleaning while she works (preparing cheeseburgers on bacon grease, and not caring if shredded cheese gets on a burger that was specifically NO CHEESE, are just two examples). I have also been told to use less and less when it comes to all the fixings on burgers. the latest one, was when the district representative was in the store, I was told that our grilled cheese sandwich usually has 3 slices of cheese on it (what I was taught) and that when the district rep is there, do that, but when he's not there, only use two pieces of cheese. first of all, saving 15 fucking cents?! secondly, that not how Dairy Queen wants it. I was trained to make burgers and chicken to a certain level of quality (the district rep even said I make picturesque burgers, worthy of commercials), and I take pride in what I do. I don't take pride in over-charging the customer, and skimping out on their meal. we also have a manager that seems to think he's god's gift to women, and has had several sexual harassment complaints from the girls that we work with. However, there hasn't been any repercussions for his disgusting acts.
This is just a short list. if you'd like to hear more, I'd be more than happy to go on and on and on about all the crap this certain location puts not only it's staff, but it's customers through.

Unprofessional Manager
So i work at the Bellefonte Dairy queen, My manager is the most unprofessional manager i have ever encountered!! She loves to leave snotty messages on my voicemail, blame me for things she has done wrong, and just be absolutely rude to customers. Like a few times i have worked with her she has been on her phone or stuffing her face not even paying attention to the customers, then when i'm the one trying to gain her attention that i need help she exclaims "I'm on the phone, Don't be rude"!!? Also too, i've expressed on more than one occasion that i'm allergic to the powder from the gloves and she simply tells me "Well, i don't know what to tell you" I find this absolutely disrespectful and unprofessional. Can anyone PLEASE help me, or tell me how i can report this?

Lying/failure to take care of complaint
I ordered a chili and cheese frito hunger buster meal and asked for NO mustard or mayo. The manager that was taking my order stated to me that all that one comes with was chili and does not come with mustard or mayo. I said good. When I get my food it has mustard on the top bun. So I brought it back up there and handed it to the manager and state that there was mustard on it. He didn't say anything to me and turned around to get it fixed. A young lady walks to me at my seat less than 1 min of bringing up there to bring it back to me. I had a suspicion that it wasn't fixed properly because of how quickly they brought it back out. So I looked. No mustard on top so I turned over the patty and there is the remaining mustard on the patty. So I bring it back up there again! The lady that brought it out the second time asked what's wrong and I told them it still has mustard on it. They didn't say anything. I go sit down again. The manager came to me staring at me as he was walking to me and handed the basket to me and I simply said to please wait so I can check it. He interrupted me and said snappy that it was a new sandwich, new basket, and new tater tots. He also said he told the cooks not to waste so thats why they scraped the stuff off instead of making a new one to make me happy. So I looked at it... It was two pieces of bread with a smear or chili... No chili or fritos... And the same patty that had mustard still on it!!! I then said "I want my money back". He snatched it out from the table and walked to the cash register. When I walked up there, the guy in the back that was I guess cooking said out loud, "doesn't he know it has mustard on it." I at that point just stared at him then looked at the manger that was giving my money back and shook my head in disgrace.

infestation
As a former employee of Sauk City Dairy Queen, I know first-hand how unsanitary the facility is. Current employees have informed me that the restaurant now has a mouse infestation. I don't know what qualifies as an infestation, but SEVEN MICE have been found in various places around the store. Of these sightings, one was a dead, rotting mouse found in the soda closet, also many near the food in the cabinets. Although they attempt to control the problem with traps, they failed to clean up the feces left behind near the product. Altogether, DQ is unsanitary and unfit to serve product to the unknowing customers. Please look into this problem immediately and talk to the currently employed staff for details of the situation.
