Alterations
I went to pick up my dress today, 7 days before the wedding and it was a disaster. There were dirt marks, the alterations looked like anybody could have done them... and they were horribly rude to me when I asked about the alterations. I was treated like I had no idea what I was speaking about, when I, myself, am a seamstress. The alterations were sloppy, amateurish and rushed. I would recommend this store to purchase your dress, but DO NOT have your dress altered by David's Bridal.

Crappy customer service
It's not just this David's Bridal that's terrible--it's all of them! First, I ordered a dress initially without my measurements being taken. Now the thing doesn't fit. Went to exchange it and got measured... one girl greeted me when I walked in and then asked someone else to measure me and walked away. The girl she asked to measure me replied upon being asked "yeah... I guess so." Completely unenthusiastic. Slammed a pen and paper down to write the measurements. Then went to find me the size which they didn't have so she gave me a different dress to try on. Tried it, told her it fit and she just said "that's good". I said "can't you look to see if there are any in my size somewhere else in the state?" So she did and GAVE ME THE NUMBER TO CALL THE OTHER STORE!!! She didn't even call for me. I had to use my own airtime cell phone minutes!!! I asked if the dress could be shipped to the Danbury store from Manchester to save me the gas money and she said no. Then I called the Orange store to see if it could be shipped there instead and they said that David's Bridal does not ship from store to store. WHAT?! So now I have to drive 45 minutes there and 45 minutes back because the idiot that initially helped me in Danvers, Massachusetts didn't take my measurements? And the worst part about it is that David's Bridal doesn't even have a main contact line/email address to field complaints/handle customer service. BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD Business! If it comes down to me having to buy dresses from David's Bridal for my wedding I'd much rather have everyone go NUDE!

Extremely poor customer service
I have bee in the local David's Bridal Store exactly three times and I have to say I will never again darken their doorway. Of those three visits I have left in tears twice. My very first experience should have been all that it took to never go back but as a nurse in an inpatient setting I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and be extra patient because you never know what kind of day someone is having. My fiancee' and I walked in on and Sunday without an appointment and were greeted by the sales woman seated at the desk who was actually very pleasant. Another sales woman overheard me say that I wanted to look at dresses and very rudely, and without explaining herself, stated that I needed to come back the next day. The woman who greeted us indicated that they were very busy and that it was usually necessary to have and appointment to look at dresses on the weekend which I was not aware of. I had no problem with this and I took a catalog and left the store. However, the more I thought about how rude the second woman was the more irritated I became. As a result, I put off the dress shopping for a while but because Abilene is a relatively small town and I did want to shop locally I did go back several weeks later. I had picked out several dresses in the catalog and looked a their website on a daily basis. I went on vacation on a Wednesday and decided that when I got home I would go back to the store and try again. My first choice, which was on their website the Wednesday before had been discontinued by Sunday and according to the snooty sales woman was "just not available anywhere" and that I had waited far to long to do my shopping. She also indicated that the other dresses that I picked out would have to be special ordered because I am a plus size and that it would take 15 weeks for anything to come in. At this point I am crushed, completely overwhelmed, and have no idea what I am going to do. This was the first time I left in tears.
With no other dress shops locally I began looking around on line for a dress but just could not find anything that I really liked so I ended up back on the DB website. The fourth dress on my list was available only online, and was out of stock. I finally purchased the fifth dress which I do like very much. I also purchased my jewelry from their online store.
As of today I have 36 days before my wedding and I still need my dress to be altered, the undergarments, shoes, and a headpiece. I reluctantly went in to the store again today to take a look at what they had available as far as head pieces. I also mentioned to the woman at the desk that I needed information about alterations. I believe that this woman was the same one who had told us we needed to come back on another day. Her behavior today was no different than the first time we had been in the store. She said that alterations took eight weeks and that there was no way that my dress could be ready in a month. I did go ahead and look at their head pieces and was very disappointed with their tiny selection. I decided not to bother with the other items and again, left the store in tears of frustration.
My fiancee' and I had planned to get married in June of 2009 but because I am a graduate student and had recently changed my degree plan we decided at the end of April to get married this August while I am not taking summer courses. I know that we are not the only couple getting married on relatively short notice and I am astounded that anything that I have wanted in the store so far is either discontinued, not available, or takes anywhere from 8 to 15 weeks to get. All of this on top of the poor customer service I have received on three separate occasions has left a very bitter taste in my mouth and this store will never get another dime of my money. I also find it interesting that there is nowhere on their website to lodge a complaint. It is almost as if they are aware of the volume of emails they would receive and choose to ignore it all together.
If you are a plus size woman or getting married in a short period of time I definitely would not bother with this store.

Don't use them
After I found the dress of my dreams, had it altered to fit me I went to pick it up at the store, only to find over 27 snags in the overlayer of chiffon. They reordered me 2 additional dresses, and both came in worse. With exactly 6 weeks until my wedding day, I had to start all over again, and they had to refund me almost $1200.00. Eva's Bridal in Oak Creek WI. Was a lifesaver though! I had my perfect dress in 4 weeks! I have told everyone I know to never go there again! Good luck!

Horrible customer service
I ordered & paid for my future step-daughters dress over the phone from the David's Bridal store in Memphis, TN. When I went to pick it up about two weeks later I signed a receipt showing it had been picked up but was not given an actual receipt. I also asked the sales lady if their would be any problems exchanging it if it didn't fit my step-daughter and the sales lady said "no". A month later she finally tried on the dress and it was a little tight up top, so we took it back to see if we could exchange it. Of course, I didn't have the pickup slip with me and I never received a receipt. The woman that "helped" us first said if I had the receipt I could exchange it for another dress. I told her I didn't have the receipt and she acted like I was an idiot. She kept insisting & arguing with me that anywhere you shop you have to have the receipt to make exchanges. I make EXCHANGES (not returns) all the time at Macy's, Stein Mart, Dillard's, etc. and never have any problems with those stores. I would completely understand her point if I was trying to return the dress or wanted to exchange it for another style of dress, but all I wanted was the exact same dress in another size. If no exchanges or returns are the store policy then why was she going to let me exchange it if I could provide a receipt? And why did the sales lady that helped me at the time of pickup act like exchanges were no big deal. Finally, fed up with her rude and argumentative attitude I asked who the store manager was and she said "that would be me" and did a little wave while smirking. I understand if that's the store policy but the way she handled the situation was completely unprofessional. I will never shop there again. Plus, I'm a wedding coordinator and I will definately not be recommending David's Bridal to any customers.

Horrible service
This was awful!! At first, I thought, "Hmm... David's Bridal has these nice fliers with nice pictures!" Once at the store, NO ONE HELPED ME, and the dressing rooms, for some reason, looked and smelled like a filthy Texaco latrine! Any way, I am five feet, six inches tall, and my friend, who was with me, stands at a mere five feet. After the woman who was supposed to "help" me disappeared to talk on her cell phone, my short little friend had to help me into these billowing wedding dresses! AND THESE DRESSES ARE CRAP! Made of - I can't even explain. So cheaply made, the details are horrendous. It looked and felt like a the kids at the local high school made these dresses in their home economics class. And I am NOT exaggerating. How can they charge $500 - $1800 for such poorly-crafted crap? After trying on about three dresses and feeling completely disgusted, my friend and I high-tailed it out of there, with some of the employees looking completely baffled as to why we were making such a dramatic exit. The next day, I called the store and complained about the shitty service. They asked me if I wanted to reschedule or if I wanted a "coupon" and I said no way. Why hasn't this store gone out of business yet?
I finally got my dress at Brides by Demetrios, and my brides-maids' dresses are all from Bill Levkoff. IF you're looking for excellent quality and gorgeous dresses, check out these vendors, and you won't be disappointed.

clothing shoes & acc
It is a shame to have to buy a Prom dress without having to purchase shoes or their fake jewelry.
David's bridal is nothing but a scam - I thought it would be my number 1 pick for my wedding dress but I guess the fact that my little girl trying on just "Prom" dresses and the lady next door to us was trying on her wedding dress while her kids were eating mcdonalds in the same dressing room will not be my #1 choice of Bridal stores.
Nothing nothing but a rip off - customer service lacks in every department - this store is located in New York, central Ave, White Plains -

HORRIBLE Customer Service
NEVER should a customer have to cry about her wedding dress.
NEVER should a customer have to argue with an employee about a quote that was given about any product and only then to be told of a different price. THEN have the employee be rude about the situation when pins were placed in the gown. THEN to be asked rudely, "Are you going to do the alterations or not, I have other customers waiting. If you weren’t going to do it, you should have told me before I placed the pins in.”
NEVER should a customer have to argue with the manager about her employees’ rudeness and unprofessionalism when it came to making a customer happy.
NEVER should a customer have to accommodate the company’s “mistakes” when the company orders the right dress in the WRONG size then tell the bride that her dress won’t be ready for her wedding date.
NEVER should a customer have to constantly return to the store because of paying for new under garments and being given used ones, or ones that didn’t’ fit and then to have to argue with the company about their “no exchange” policy when it was their mistake in the first place.
NEVER should a customer have to feel frustrated about shopping for their wedding dress.
NEVER should a customer be told by the STORE MANGER that the Regional Manager will give you a call about the whole situation in the next business day. Only to be told by the Regional Manager, “We don’t call the customers about complaints; YOU are suppose to call US.”
NEVER should a customer be treated so unfairly, so poorly, and so UNPROFESSIONAL in ANY situations without regards to their sex, age, race, and/or color.
Ladies and gentlemen, we were.
Everything that has happened to us at the David’s Bridal store located in Albuquerque, NM was unruly and completely NOT in the same sentence of CUSTOMER SERVICE!! They do not understand the definition. Their classes on customer service and professional etiquette were not used at all during our entire business transaction. None of the employees there are recommended for anything but a cashier or waitress. Even then, the restaurant employees have way more class.
The company needs to understand that the best way of ADVERTISEMENT is word of MOUTH especially by “Happy. Satisfied Customers.” We are not happy, we are not satisfied and we would never ever recommend their business at all. Never again will we step foot near a David’s Bridal no matter how many clearance sales they shell out. Millions of dollars are spent each year on this company and they should be happy that “CUSTOMERS” bring them business. That “CUSTOMERS” are the ones that give them a job, a paycheck and advertisement.

Color hassle and rude service
I went with my two bridesmaids to get their dresses at David’s Bridal. They advertise that they can get any style in any color. Except when we actually picked out the styles we wanted and asked for the color (Periwinkle) we wanted, we were told that the color is being discontinued and they can’t order it for us at all. We will have to call other stores ourselves to see if any of those stores carry the same styles in the sizes and color we want or we can get whatever we can from the clearance rack. No way was I going to put myself through that. I figure I don’t absolutely have to have that color anyways so I switched to a darker blue (Serene). Except that was a hassle too. The styles that we picked didn’t come in Serene so we had to change dress styles. Since we’re matching the color of the bridesmaids’ dresses to the groomsmen’s vests and David’s Bridal has some sort of affiliation with Men’s Wearhouse, the lady that helped us pick out the dressed told us that “absolutely, they [Men’s Wearhouse] have a lot of vests in Serene.” All of this took over an hour when they advertised how easy it would be to shop there. And the lady helping us was horrible. It’s no fault of ours that their selection of styles doesn’t come in all the colors they advertised. Yet, she repeatedly told us that we were “killing her” and seemed annoyed when we ask her questions. She seemed to have no computer competency at all and everything we asked her she had to fiddle for a long time at the computer to find out.
In any event, after my bridesmaids paid for their dresses, I went with my fiancé to Men’s Wearhouse to get the tuxes. When I told the gentleman working there that we have Serene dresses from David’s Bridal, he had no idea what color I was talking about! They don’t carry the color Serene at all despite the lady at David’s Bridal assuring us that Men’s Wearhouse have “a lot of vests in Serene.” The closest color that came to Serene was…PERIWINKLE, which they had plenty of and the gentleman told me that it wasn’t discontinued and we can still order vests in that color any time we want.
So back I went to David’s Bridal. The lady that “helped” us pick out our dresses wasn’t there so I spoke to someone else. This lady was just as unhelpful. I very politely explained the situation to her and her response was “what do you want me to do about it?” I told her I just wanted to know what my options were considering that an employee at David’s Bridal made a mistake and sold us dresses in a color that wouldn’t match anything at Men’s Wearhouse. Her response was: 1) why don’t the groomsmen just wear black vests? 2) She double-checked and they can magically order Periwinkle again despite not being able to a few days earlier 3) I shouldn’t have to settle for any color I don’t want (hilarious, since she then repeated that Periwinkle was being discontinued soon and I need to make a decision soon about the color of the dresses). Her tone during all this was rude and condescending. I finally told her that I don’t want those options. I just want a refund for my bridesmaids and we’ll look for dresses elsewhere. That’s when I found out that they won’t do refunds. They won’t do refunds for dresses ordered in April that won’t arrive until July! It wasn’t until after reading all the complaints against David’s Bridal that I realize their employees are just trained to make a sale and hook their customers in at all costs.

Disgusted by terrible customer service!
I will NEVER again patronize one of these stores. I was absolutely disgusted with the lack of attention and terrible customer service I received today. After spending almost an hour trying on dresses, I brought my selection to the counter to order a specific color and size, as it was not on the rack, and I was informed that there were none in stock because it was a clearance dress. Mind you, there was absolutely no indication on the dress itself or on the rack that this dress was a clearance dress, otherwise I would not have gotten my heart set on special ordering it. I was then informed that another store might have it in stock, but that I would have to contact them MYSELF because neither of the women behind the counter were willing to do it for me, and I would also have to pay an additional fee to have it shipped. In the middle of discussing the matter with the woman at the register, she turned to the next customer in line and began her transaction. I was considering using this company in the future, but if my business is unappreciated in their stores, I will gladly take it elsewhere, and I will tell this story to anyone else who is considering shopping at David's Bridal.
