Bait and Switch
I called Priceline Locksmith for rekeying my condo that I had just moved into. They said that they would have someone over in 30 minutes. He was over an hour and a half late and then wanted to charge $185.00 when I was quoted $39.97 on the phone. He also operated under the name Depnedable Locksmith Inc.. I told the guy to leave after the bait and switch and then got a call from the "owner". He said he would do it for & $80. I was so fed up and anxious to get the locks rekeyed I agreed. Please don’t call them based on the fake good reviews like I did. They are a scam!!!

Rip Off
I contacted Neighborhood Locksmiths in Laurel MD. I was told over the phone that the cost would be $35.00 for the call out and an additional $19.99 for difficult locks. The techinician arrived one hour and five minutes late. After waiting at my front door for the hour. He looked at the door and told me it was going to cost $196.00. His tactic was to make me wait and then run the price up, since I needed to get into my house. Of course, I did not pay that money and started calling another locksmith company. After arguing with the guy for 10 minutes he agreed to do it for $70.00, still higher than I was told on the phone. After the techinician complained that it was a tough lock and it would take awhile, he was able to get in the residence in about 3 minutes.

If you are contacting Neighborhood Locksmith or Dependable Locks Inc make sure to get a set price before using them. I orginally called Neighborhood Locksmith but a techinician came from Dependable Locks Inc.

Personally, I suggest not using either company.

Overpricing, fraud, unethical
I was made to wait for almost 2 hours while my car was running and locked. I didn't ask for a quote when on the phone with the operator/dispatcher because my neighbor assured me it would cost around $50. When the tech called to confirm his service and another time to apologize for being late and on his way, "No Caller ID" showed up on my cell phone. Plus, he showed up in jeans, in a private car with Massaschusetts licence tag (I'm in Little Rock, AR).

He spoke with a foreign accent, asked for my drivers license, showed me the forms to sign, and told me the cost would be $149. My receipt reads: $39 for service call and $110 for lockout. He told me it'd be hard for this type of car and ended up simply using a slim jim to get in. My car had been running for almost 2 hours, low on gas, I had to get to work and take my 2 kids to school. Desperate. I resigned and paid. Now I plan on disputing part of the charges once the credit card transaction is posted. Other locksmiths would have charged only around 50-60 bucks.

Dependable Locks is listed in the Central Arkansas Yellow Pages as 24-hr Locks with several numbers for each of the cities in the Central Ark area. I called the same number after arriving at work to see what kind of estimate I'd get. The operator told me she was a dispatcher, only the tech can tell me how much it'd cost.

I got in touch with KK who also complained on this board/forum. He said it took 2 months to get a partial credit from the company. I am also submitting a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The company is alraedy listed as UNSATISFACTORY.

Fraud and cheating
I needed two dead bolts installed and I found the number to dependable locks. The locksmith came and the first thing I asked was how much is this going to cost. He showed me a paper with the prices and services that he wrote down. There were three prices listed ($39, $135 and $125). I could not read his writing describing the work to be done so I asked him what he was going to do. This is what I was told by the locksmith: $39 service fee, $125 to replace broken lock and $135 to install new lock in another door.

After work was complete he gave me a bill of over $400. I asked him why the cost has gone up and he said that the $125 charge was per door. He did not tell me this when describing the work that he was going to do. He said that it was written on the quote sheet that was illegible. I specifically asked him about the prices because I could not read his hand writing.

So in the end I was charged $135 to drill a hole for a dead bolt and $125 to put the lock in that hole. The company is giving me the run around.

To any out there who needs a good locksmith, stay far away from this company.

OVERCHARGED!!!!
So yesterday I am on my way to surgery, yeah thats right surgery, we get to the baby sitters house and we lock our inside the car, so we are in a huge hurry and we call this company in the phone book, Dependable Locks Inc. that says they are "fast" so the technition gets to the place where we are at and he says to me here sign this, so I sign the paper, no I did not read it because I am already late for my surgery, he gets done takes less then a minute, and my wife gives him the credit card and we take off in a hurry, after all is said and done we get home, and looking at the receipt for the lock out, he charged $39.00 service fee and a $98.00 lock out fee that is $137.00 I just about died right there, so we call there customer service office and we ask them how much it is for a lock out they say $39.00 service fee and $15.00 for the lock out, so we ask for a "manager" because we feel we have been ripped off bad, and nobody will help us out at all, they just say, you signed the waiver and thats that, won't even try to make us happy, I urge you never use this company!!!

Rip Off
This evening I was charged $139 for a technician to remove a lock off of my storage facility. He stated that there was a $39 charge for service. Then when he finished he made a phone call to Dependable Locks Inc at 866-429-9485 and they told him to charge me an additional $100. He said that the charge was because he needed to use electricity. There is not even an electrical outlet at the facility. The only thing he used was a small hand held drill to take the lock off. This took only 5 minutes.

Overcharged!
I locked my keys in my car and called Dependable Locks Inc. I asked for an estimate I was given a quote of $39.00 service charge plus $15.00 fee. The dispatcher had told me that he would be there in approx. 30 min. 1 hour later the driver had arrived, it took less than 10 min and he charged me a total of $90.00. When I told him the price the dispatcher quoted me he clarified that it was $15.00 and up depending on how hard it was to unlock. And that my car was really, really hard therefore he needed to charge more. I'm unsure of what a normal time it takes to unlock a car but I feel 10 min of time is not worth $51.00 fee and $39.00 service charge.
