On 1/17/2011, while on my first cruise, I purchased a diamond eternity band from Magnum Jewelers in Grand Cayman. Upon returning home I had the ring immediately inspected by an extremely reputable jeweler. Imagine my shock to find out I was sold a ring with numerous defects. 2 broken diamonds, many loose stones/prongs, and a long list of other issues. I immediately contacted the company and requested a refund - which they refused. I then requested that they repair the ring to include replacing the broken diamonds. Initially they refused that as well, but upon threat of taking further action, they agreed to repair the ring and replace the stones. I mailed them the ring and they kept it for one month. When it was returned I immediately had it re-examined. The ring was in worse condition then when I sent it. None of the repairs were made - no work was done at all - and I now have plyer marks in the gold and a burr on a prong in addition to the broken diamonds and other defects. I contacted them again. They have refused to make this right. The response to me was that they deal in "millions of dollars a day in diamonds" and one "small" purchase such as mine was irrelevant in the big scheme of things. I am now out the money and the ring is worthless. So the moral of the story is BUYER BEWARE - NEVER SHOP AT MAGNUM JEWELERS IN GRAND CAYMAN, ST. THOMAS, CA, NYC, OR ALASKA!!
