Direct TV bad installation

Bad Installation and bad data
I bought Direct TV through ATT Bundling services
Direct TV, Phone lines, DSL
the Contractor cut my old calble lines and left them dangling with risk to my family. Direct TV says I was cut off due to old bill that was 5 years old that I paid for in 2004. they installed 4 units in my home after ATT ran a credit check and when i got home they had discontuined my servce. I have an issue with
my old cable company being left dangling with risk to my family and my home. I called and the only thing I could get is a person that wants me to pay an old bill of 300 dollars that is falsely charged. I have not been contacted by anyone about oweing continued charges.
I talked to at least 6 people tonight with
Direct TV only to be told that it could not be esculated.

Scam charges
I competed a year contract with Direct TV. My job wasn't going as well as it had in the past. I called to cancel my service. I was talked into, putting my account on a 6 month suspension. During the 6 months, I had moved to a different location, and had left the dishes at the old residence. When the 6 months was up, they automatically started charging me for the service again without any warning. I called them several times, and I told them I had no way of receiving the signal, as the dishes were at the old place. They refused to drop the $63.00 charge, for a service, I did not, and could not receive. The woman from customer service was very rude on the phone. I informed them that I would never use their service again, I felt like they really took advantage of me. I feel I should have received something in the mail, to inform me. I would not let them talk me into this situation if I were you.

false advertising
I live in the wauregan where they say metropolitan satellite services the building! it is a lie they say that just to get you to move in! when I moved in 1 year ago I only knew of comcast cable witch is also a rip off!when I found out about direct tv I was so happy until i found out it ws a lie!when I call metopolitan satellite 1 lie after another!I want to get an attorney and sue!what are my optionsd as a tennent of the wauregan!

Terrible Company
DIRECT TV IS A HORRIBLE COMPANY. I DID NOT KNOW I SIGNED A CONTACT FOR 2 YEARS AND THE BOX BROKE AFTER 30 DAYS. I'M ON THE PHONE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY CAN NOT GET A SUPERVISOR OR MANAGER. BUT I DID GET TRANSFERED 4 TIMES.
GREAT. RIGHT ...WELL EVERY TIME I GOT TRANSFERED I HAD TO SAY THE STORY OVER AND OVER AGAIN. FINALLY AFTER SCREAMING AND DEMAND TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR. SHE APOLOGIZED AND SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN NOT DO BECAUSE IT'S BEEN OVER THE 30 DAYS (32 DAYS). SO NOW I HAVE A 3 YEAR OLD BOX HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I HAD DISH NET WORK AND COMCAST THE BEST SERVICE I HAVE EVER. IF I HAD ANY ISSUES IT WAS SOLVED IMMEDIATELY. I TRIED TO CUT MY BILL WITH DIRECT TV, I WAS WRONG BY THE TIME I RECEIVE MY BILL IT WAS MORE THAN DISH NET WORK. ALL THEY SAID IS...I'M SORRY. THE FUNNY THING IS THEY NEW I WAS STUCK WITH THEM FOR 2 YEARS. (CONTRACT).
WELL IT GOT TO THE POINT I DIDN'T CARE ABOUT MY CREDIT THAT I CANCELLED THEM.

Unauthorized billing
Direct tv auto drafted money ($153.02) in Feb. After my service had been turned off and after I made a payment via a money gram to them, The statement they sent me did not have a "due date" on it. It was blank so, my service was turned off 3 days after I got that bill. I went to a money gram station and paid them the money, . When I got home the service was connected. I didn't know the draft had happened until a month later! In March the same thing happened even though the assured me that I was not signed up for the "promotional rate" (which requires them to sign you up for auto withdrawal payments). They drafted me again for $121.53 in March after I made ANOTHER money gram payment and my service had been disconnected! So, they stole money from my account twice! I had to cancel the service and they are charging me in access of $400 to do that! Even though I faxed them the money gram payment information and they had records of the withdrawal from my account, they still would not refund me my money but made sure to charge me for breaking the contract! I thought the purpose in paying in advance was so that we do not have to sign a contract! Direct tv is a rip off in my eyes!

Horrible company
Direct TV accepts orders which are placed through American Satellite Entertainment Inc. Yet when American Satellite Entertainment Inc.sells programming for one third that which Direct TV accepts, Direct TV then charges their own price irregardless of what American Satellite Entertainment Inc. has sold the programing for.
I was sold a subscription for satellite programing which was suppose to be $14.99, a month and ended up costing $52.99. The service was canceled, and because of that I am being charged a early cancellation fee of $311.74.
Something should be done to stop this trickery, Direct TV is accepting American Satellite Entertainment Inc. orders but refuses to accept the price the service was sold for, therefor Direct TV should not expect any early cancellation fee.
A complaint was filed with the Better Business Bureau and they did nothing to stop this fraud.

Overcharged
I signed up for Direct TV a year ago on a program that gave me a few months of low fees - $50 or so - which would rise to near $100 after the trial period. Now that I've been on the program for a year, they've boosted my fees by another $20, saying that was part of the original bargain. If it was, the terms were buried in fine print. It will cost me $240 to discontinue Direct TV. Once my contract with them is up, I will get off their stinking program and put up an antenna. This is another example of capitalist corporate greed. May Direct TV and its detestable minions be cursed forever.

POOR SERVICE
Me and my wife moved last month to Colorado on a PCS move for the army and we notified Direct TV that we would be moving and that service needed to be suspended til we arrived in Colorasdo and found a new place. We were in transit in kansas city driving from kentucky when we got a unpleasent suprise, Direct TV charged 1100 Dollars to our debit card for cancalation and equipment fees, At this point leaving us 100 dollars negitive in the bank and stranded till i was able to get money from our parents. Once we contacted them about this they explained that we never contacted them even after we gave them the name and number of the person we spoke with about the move almost a month before. Then they tell us it will be 6-8 weeks to return the money to our account. Well after my wife spoke to the attentdents supervisor and the supervisors supervisor we got told we would have the money back in 72 hours. Well this was on 26 April 09 and it is now 06 May 09 and needless to say we havent seen our money yet. I am just upset at this company for there practices and the fact i never gave them promission to with draw money from my account and the fact that they used the card i had paid my last bill is even more disturbing. I never had a complant with Direct TV up to this point and even sent my friends to them and had moved before and had no issues, but after my last 2 weeks and the issues i have had i will never recommend or use them my self again. You do what the company tells you to do when you relocate and they tell you that you are in rthe wrong and take money in my mind illegally from my account. I am military and on a strict budget, and the fact that i had to go to my parents to get the money to finish my move is embarrising to me, but to have to explain the reason why was even more. I have seen on this site that others have had this issue and i see a trend. Needless to say if i dont see the money i am owed here soon i will take this to my installtions Better Business office and hope that maybe they can accomplish something. I highly recommend that if you have direct tv watch yourself when you move.

Chares on Card
I was a direct tv customer for 6 years, My box went bad and I received a new one under my customer protection program. little did I know when I canceled my account that I would be charged 512.00 because I received a receiver that I had paid for for 6 years and my agreement renewed for 2 years. Now my checking account is over drawn, I am disputing the charges with my bank. Tell me how can direct tv automatically charge this amount and not automatically charge the last bill? and they just automatically take out them amount with no prior authorization. DO NOT EVER USE DIRECT TV!

billing dispute
have been disputing payments that were made to direct tv, contacted my credit card company and was assured that the amt was taken off of my card for the bill, and also my bill has never been the same since i stated service with direct tv.
they also told me my bill would be $32.00 and when my bill was $58.00 then $50.00 i decided i needed to check and see why, they proceeded to tell me i had to sign up online for a rebate to recieve that discount, you would think when they tell you this information when you sign up that the employees would also tell the customer of this important information.
I also have spoken to 5 different employees concerning my account and get no where, they continue to tell me that I'm mistaken and my card was not charged and that they are right, there is no discussing with direct tv, also asked to talk to a supervisor, and was on hold for over 15 min and then was told there were none available, then asked to have one call me back, and of course no one returned my call, am at my witts end, and very irritated about it all, and am still trying to get my bill straightened out, normaly the saying goes the customer is always right, not with direct tv, there motto is that every customer is a liar and trying to get one over on them what a joke for a satalite company
